Well where did THAT weekend go?! Seriously…wasn’t it just Friday?
We had a great weekend over here – the perfect mix of fun and productivity. But since we decided to tackle a last minute project later on Sunday and it’s late as I’m sitting down to type this up, I’m going to keep things simple with a sentence (or two) per picture post. Nice and easy for your Monday, right?
Jay treated me to the most amazing breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, toast, and coffee on Saturday morning.
I am one lucky, lucky woman.
Saturday afternoon was spent poolside at my parents’ house, and it was an absolutely beautiful day (yet again…you’ve rocked the weekends this summer, Mother Nature). Sausages on the grill + mixed drinks while Lucas napped.
Then it was play time once the little man was up!
I told myself I wasn’t going to have any sort of fall/pumpkin beers until at least September…but then my parents had their outdoor fridge stocked with Octoberfest and, well, I just had to do it.
At least we waited until we were out of the pool though, right? Octoberfest poolside just seemed all sorts of wrong.
We kept things easy peasy and ordered some pizza for dinner.
Sausage, peppers, and onions is where it’s at…but only if it’s crumbled sausage. Ya feel me?
I started Sunday off with the full, 55 minute BodyPump DVD, and it was fabulous. Came upstairs, looked outside, and saw about 5 HUGE wild turkeys in the backyard.
First deer, now turkeys? Who needs human neighbors…we’ve apparently got a full party happening in our back woods.
I got my grocery shopping for the week finished while Lucas napped, then came home and did some food prep for the week.
Along with a little baking…
It feels just SO good to be back to cooking/baking in my own kitchen again (have I mentioned this before?).
Those turned out to be some pretty sweeeet banana muffins…you guys interested in a recipe??
Dinner was scrumptious, thanks to Kristin’s Vegetable Fajita Tostada Bowls.
And to finish up the weekend, we decided to tackle another painting project in our half bath.
I’m in looooove with the color (Sherwin Williams Storm Cloud) and I’ll be sure to show you the finished project…at some point when it’s actually finished in there.
Now I’m finishing up this post and going to grab a bowl of ice cream that’s waiting for me…that painting is hard work!
I hope you all had a fantastic weekend, and have a wonderful week ahead…umm, hello almost September?!

Ahhh I rarely drink, but now that I’m 39 weeks pregnant the thought of a Fall flavored beer sounds AMAZING.

I was going to refrain from all things pumpkin at least until the end of this month….and then pumpkin pancakes happened.

I’m so not ready to leave my summer beverages behind. Ciders and radlers are too delicious to stop drinking already. I love that paint color in the bathroom.
Courtney says
What are radlers?!?
Jamie says
Obsessed with that bathroom color! And I am not so sure about summer leaving – I know I’m going to miss the beach weekends, but as far as the humidity… not so much ..
Katie @ Talk Less, Say More says
LOVE the color in your bathroom!!
And it’s been a bit cooler here this past week and almost felt like fall which I LOVED but this week we are looking at it warming back up and it made me realize how over summer I am and how ready I am for the cooler, fall months. (Winter can hold off a bit tho… ;)
Courtney says
Haha umm yes, no winter PLEASE. I wasn’t too sure about the fall weather just yet, but with the temps shooting back up with the added humidity, fall is sounding miiiighty nice right now ;)
Heather @ Life In Leggings says
We had great weather on Sunday, too. I was so grateful for at least one more sunny day by a pool! :) Your eats look very similar to mine this weekend… and no, it’s never to early to break out the pumpkin ales. Have a great week Courtney!
Courtney says
Thanks Heather, you too! :)

Ash Diamond says
I also had my first pumpkin beer of the season or year this weekend!!
Lisa says
Wild turkeys…..we have those too. They are a sight to be seen. I’m loving your bathroom color. I’m trying to paint my bathroom (also a grey color)…not enough hours in the day to get it done unfortunately. I’m also stuck on what type of wall art to put up. Any thoughts? Will you be hanging wall art? Thanks to Julie at Peanut Butter Fingers I’ve fallen in love with Minted. Too many choices though.
Courtney says
Gahhh I still don’t know! I’m thinking some black and white wall art (you’re SO right, Minted is fab!!) and maybe a couple shelves? I know we also want to update the mirror and get some sort of plant (fake, of course for me haha) in there.
Niki @ Life With Niki says
That pizza, the hot dog, and the salads looks pretty bomb. I love the balance of meals you have over the weekend- it look like your son didn’t mind them too much either ;). Nothing beats just sitting back and enjoying delicious pizza with your family <3!
Patrícia says
Hi! I Love love love your blog.
First of all I’d really like it if you could share the recipe of the banana muffins.
And could you please share the name of the dvd you used?
Thank you so much
Courtney says
Hey Patricia! Yes, the muffin recipe will hopefully be up next week! And I’m assuming you’re referring to the workout DVD? It’s called Les Mills PUMP, but I don’t think it’s available anymore (I ordered through Beachbody a couple of months ago). Maybe you could find it online somewhere though? Good luck! :)
Patrícia says
Yes, that’s the one i was talking about. Thank you so much. I’ll look it up.
