Oh, Monday. You sure do like to show up quickly, don’t you?
Hope everyone had a great weekend! Anyone have any grand plans? Our weekend wasn’t all that exciting. We had a few highlights here and there, but honestly, the bathroom remodel basically took up all of it. We’re not done yet, and of course some things took an unexpected amount of time, but we (and by “we” I mean Jay) are still truckin’ along!
Thankfully, as of last night, we have a functioning shower so I’m finally able to shower at home today. Oh yes, I was quite grateful for the shower at my parents’ house, and the one at the spa this weekend.
Speaking of the spa…ahhh yes. It was amazing. Sixty minutes of deep tissue bliss.
Next time, I feel like I want to go ninety minutes. An hour just isn’t enough, if ya ask me. Anyone else go for the 90 minutes? Worth it?
Saturday night dinner of the spiciest Chipotle I’ve ever eaten (seriously, what the heck was going ON?!), loads of guac, and beer in a frosty mug. Mmmm, mmmm.
Saturday evening chill time with my boys. And “chill time” for Lucas is about 30 seconds…maybe a minute, tops.
But that’s only when Mickey Mouse Clubhouse is on, which it was when I snapped that pic.
Sunday afternoon cook out…err, cook in, with my parents. Unfortunately, it was a bit too windy and dreary outside, so we kept it indoors. But hey, the food still tastes just as good!
Those green beans, by the way? Fresh from my dad’s garden, and ohmygod they were sooooo good. I miss my garden. Big time.
I attempted making chocolate and, well, it is clearly not my thing.
I typically despise cooking/working with white chocolate (but not eating it…that’s cool) and yesterday just further proved that point. Oh well, you can’t win ‘em all, right?
This guy assured me I should ditch the chocolate and put some of my better skills to use, like playing peek-a-boo behind the couch and chasing him all around the living room.
He was right.
And, of course, a weekend wouldn’t be complete without a little something sweet. Ice cream from Stewart’s, baby.
The same kinds as last time. Love. That. Stuff.

Alright, my friends. It’s back to the grind. Have a marvelous Monday!
Lucas looks so big in the picture with Jay!
White chocolate is so finicky to cook with. I usually end up messing it up and then I have to eat all the white chocolate because I can’t let that go to waste : )
looks like a fun weekend!! we had lots of chill time here too!! and ending with ice cream?? well if weekends must come to an end, you did it the right way! have a great week!
I am so jealous of your trip to the spa. I’m hoping to go soon for my prenatal massage! I hear they’re amazing!
I’ve heard deep tissue massages are amazing but also kind of painful! I think I would have to try at 30 minute one to start. That chipotle looks amazing. I think I will be needing to get that this week :)
Ooo spa! I’m so jealous! I think 90 minutes is definitely worth it! I feel like in 60 minutes by the time you settle in and relax it’s over!
My opinion with massages is always – the longer, the better ;-) And I generally avoid white chocolate for that reason, unless I’m just throwing white chocolate chips in something!
Totally jealous of that spa time!! I’m also a little jealous of those garden green beans… yum! I have garden tomatoes and there is just nothing like garden fresh produce.
Oh girl, I would looooove a spa day! Glad you got to enjoy one. You deserve it!
Can’t wait to see the completed bathroom! How you reckon it will take? An hour’s massage just flies by, I’d definitely go for 90 minutes!
I agree, a 90 minute massage needs to happen next time. I feel like I am just getting relaxed and then it’s over with a 60 minute.
Can’t wait to see the finished bathroom!!!
Can’t wait to see the bathroom progress! Love the floor tile!
Oh goodness, a massage sounds GLORIOUS right now. I’d be all about that 90 minuter! Haha what is “chill time”? Hunter can’t sit still if his life depended on it. ;) Glad to hear the bathroom remodel is going well! Can’t wait to see the finished product.
Any good tips on cooking your green beans? I just bought some fresh ones and need a good way to cook them!
I can’t wait to see how your bathroom turns out!
That ice cream flavor sounds amazing. I’ll have to keep my eyes open for something like that!
Can’t wait to see the bathroom remodel! But, glad you can now shower at home. ;-) I despise working with chocolate in the double broiler. I always end up scorching it. Looks like it was a great weekend!
Yeah, white chocolate isn’t my fave to work with (or eat for that matter). I mean, it isn’t even technically chocolate so it really has no right to be so fussy, ya know?
I didn’t know white chocolate was such a pain for most of us! Just thought it was me burning it almost all the time, hah! And I just had my first ever massage last month, and it was surprisingly awesome!!! I always wanted one but never thought I could because I’m so ticklish and you know how that goes. But I guess if the masseuse is that good that’s not really a problem. :)
A spa time & if cream sounds great right now!!
