Okay, I think I’m finally starting to catch up a bit here. Maybe…okay, probably not. But at least I’m making progress on the blogging front!
Our weekend was great, thanks to some fun with friends and getting productive around the house. And a big highlight was celebrating Lucas’s pal Kaura’s 2nd birthday. He was so excited to go see her…I mean, they were roomies for a month not long ago!
It was an absolutely perfect day on the weather front, so everyone enjoyed some time outside.
Including some time down by the lake, too.
They even had a pizza truck there, who made some of the most amazing wood fired pizza ever. Seriously.
We love pizzahhhh!
Of course, we also love dessert, too. How cute is this dessert table?!
And, speaking of cute, how adorable are all these kiddos?!
We sure are some lucky moms.
And not only that, but lucky friends, too. I sure do love these ladies (although some of you are missing!).
After the party on Saturday, we finished out the rest of our evening with the marathon painting session I told you about yesterday, and finally finished up the final coat on Sunday evening. It’s looking good! And I promise, I’ll show you guys soon.
So when we weren’t painting this weekend, we were likely doing something else around the house…whether it was unpacking the last of our boxes, cleaning the endless amounts of dust, or putting together new office furniture. Cody was a great supervisor on that last one.
But Lucas was an even bigger helper. He just loves working with his hands and always wants to be involved in what’s going on. I love it.
We also met some of our new neighbors on Sunday, who stopped by to introduce themselves AND brought us cookies.
‘Nuff said…the new neighbors have already found the key to my heart.
And actually, they aren’t our only “neighbors”…
Ever since we’ve moved in, we have a mama dear and two babies who walk through our backyard almost everyday. Before we even moved in, the site supervisor told us that he saw these dear almost daily, too. Granted, they’re eating our grass seed, which isn’t too cool…but they are just too cute.
So there’s a wrap up of our weekend! Now I’ve got to finish typing up this post because I have a glass of wine and some Bachelor in Paradise calling my name (I mean, how much of a fantastic train wreck is this show?!?). I’ll catch you guys tomorrow! <3

Love the picture of the kiddos, then with the mom as and then just the ladies. Such a great perspective on life and friendship. Looks like a busy but fun one!

I’ve heard of taco trucks and other food trucks, but a pizza one is news to me! That could be very dangerous for me to live near.

That picture of all the kiddos on the couch is so adorable!! I’ll have to try to do that when I’m together with all of my college friends!! :)

Man! All our new neighbors brought us were some garden tomatoes! I mean, okay, still good, still nice, but… COOKIES!!! C’mon…

You have the best neighbours ever!!
That is also the best party ever. Pizza truck and dessert table = the way to my heart.

The dessert table looks fantastic! And that’s pretty amazing that you can see deer out your window, I know my son would love that. Great photos from the party!
Christen says
LOVE the pizza truck idea. I’m a food blogger and still want to hire one for a party :) Also, be careful with the deer (and don’t feed them!) While it’s really cool to have them come up to your house, we have deer constantly in our backyard and they’ll mow down your flowers and veggie plants. We filled in a huge part of our garden this year because they eat everything!
Courtney says
Oh I knowwww…I’d be totally happy if they weren’t there, haha. They were always eating plants (and our garden!) at our old house. So annoying!

Ice cream and pizza, heaven???

Those food trucks can have some of the BEST food! Glad you guys had a fun and productive weekend! I always love seeing how much Hunter adores helping and working with his daddy too – it’s too cute! Looking forward to seeing how the paint turned out. :)

What a great wknd! Sounds like it was the perfect mix of fun & productive. Can’t wait to see the new house pics. I still get excited to see deer – I feel like a little kid, but I can’t help it; I’m thrilled by them every time.
Katy @ Keeping Up With Katy says
Love the picture of your friends/babies – makes me really excited for all of my friends to start having kiddos! :)

I know how you feel re: only unboxing and painting! Moving has me EXHAUSTED!

That pizza and the dessert bar look amazing! Keep a close eye out for those deer (especially at night). We once had 15 deer in our yard. And they eat lots of pretty flowers too, as well as other plants :( . Invest in some deer repellent spray and keep an eye out for ticks.
Courtney says
Ugh, I know! They’re cute to look at, but I’d definitely be happy if they weren’t there…we had them at our old house and they were always eating our plants!
