I hope you all are having a fantastic weekend so far! We’ve had our fair share of fun over here so far, and today I’m hoping that I’ll be able to pry Jay away from football long enough for us to paint our office. We’ve had the paint for almost 2 weeks now and just keep putting it off…we both really dislike painting.
So we shall see what happens, but for now, here’s a look at our meals/dinners from this past week. Everything was pretty simple this week, due to some things we had going on during the evenings, but we still tried our best to keep things at least somewhat healthy. Maybe you’ll find some ideas for yourself?!
Sunday: Lots of picnic food for Labor Day!
Monday: Pasta with homemade sauce and meatballs (plus garlic knots!) at my parents’ house
Tuesday: Tilapia (I bought a box of this kind from Gorton’s because it was on sale and I had a coupon that would double – it’s pretty good!) + garlic shells and sugar snap peas
Wednesday: Steak Fajitas with homemade guacamole. Jay found this recipe from Blue Apron so we did a slight variation of it and it turned out great. Not only that, but the top round I bought was just over $3.00, so it was a nice, cheap meal too!
Thursday: Light ‘n Easy Cincinnati Chili – Ohhh, how I’ve missed this recipe!!
Friday: Oh, this was a healthy one. A couple slices of a Chicken, Bacon, Ranch frozen pizza (which really wasn’t all that great, but I COULD go for some of my Chicken, Bacon, and Ranch Mac & Cheese…YUM)…
Followed by more kettle corn than one really needs.
And later followed by an unphotographed huge cookie bar + a glass of wine. Hey…cheers to Friday, right?
Saturday: TBD – although it’s likely going to either be takeout or fair food. I’ll share details tomorrow!
Feel like doing a little baking at all this weekend? Why not give one of my favorites a try…
Cinnamon Chip Studded Snickerdoodle Bread
Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes (with the most amazing Honey Cinnamon Cream Cheese Frosting!)

You have me craving fall foods/pasta/football food. I really need to up my game and get on it today. I’m not really in the mood to prep, but with having meniscus surgery Wednesday, Iknow I’ll thank myself when we don’t need to resort to takeout. Kevin cant cook all that well.
Thanks for reminding me to bake something. I’m in a Apple crunch muffin sorta mood. Is it Apple picking season up there yet?
Maybe if you tempt Jay with his favorite treat, you can pry him away for the second quarter, paint, let him go back at the end of half time, and he won’t miss too much. ?

Does anyone really like painting? I’ve got some prep work on the list today to get ready for painting. I love football season but sure makes it hard to get anything done by the hubby, ha!

I can’t blame you for procrastinating on the painting – I always feel like I love painting until it actually comes time to do it and I want to quit three minutes in haha.
