Thank you to Ricola® Herb & Throat drops for sponsoring this post as part of an ongoing campaign with Socialstars.
As I sit and type out this post, it is currently 72 degrees with beautiful sunshine. At the beginning of March.
We may be way above average for up here in upstate NY, but I am 110% not complaining. I’ve had spring fever for months now!
We’ve gotten lucky so far (I hesitate to say this year, because here in upstate NY, there’s no guarantee we still won’t get slammed with some snow) where this winter has, well…hardly been a winter?! Sure, it’s been cold, but I’m fairly certain we’ve only gotten about 4-6 inches of snow total. That’s practically unheard of.
But like I said, I’m taking it, and I’m keeping my fingers crossed that winter truly is on the outs…because I am ready to welcome spring!
So what am I looking forward to this spring? Well, for one, I’m just excited to be able to get outside more once again. Whether that be on walks in the neighborhood, throwing rocks, or playing in the sandbox with Lucas.
Soaking in the sunshine and fresh air is something that just makes my heart happy.
We’ve also got a few projects that I’m really pushing to get done this spring, too. The biggest (besides our basement remodel) is finally having a back deck to sit out on. Right now, we don’t have much of anything going on…
And once spring rolls around with all of its rainy wetness, our “beginners” yard is going to be a complete mess…
So having somewhere to be able to sit outside and enjoy the weather is going to be amazing.
I’m also super excited to get Lucas’s new swing set up for him! My parents got it for him/us as a housewarming gift, but because it was already starting to get cold when we got it, we figured we’d just wait until the spring. And it’s been sitting in our garage ever since…
So if I’m being honest, I may also be equally as excited to finally have some room in our garage so we can at least mayyyybe fit one of our cars in there.
Oddly enough, I’m also looking forward to a little spring cleaning. I completely chalk this up to the fact that it’s still a new house and I’m just always drawn to wanting to keep new things looking…new. So to name a few, we’ve got windows to clean, leaves to clear away, and a garage to organize!
Other things I’m looking forward to this spring?
Packing away the bulky coats, boots, and sweaters. I love them only for a certain amount of time, but eventually (aka, now) I’m ready for them to disappear.
Flip flops! The ease of being able to slip on some flip flops is just amazing, isn’t it?!
Getting past the nasty cold/flu season. Thankfully, we didn’t get hit too hard this year with the colds. I had a couple, Lucas had a couple, and I think Jay maybe had one? But any time I ever feel like there’s the slightest chance I’m getting something, I always grab a Ricola. The Dual Action Honey Lemon Drops are great for soothing a sore throat or cough, and they combine a unique blend of ten natural Swiss alpine herbs, natural menthol and soothing honey lemon syrup center for fast relief.
So for those reasons, I also keep these on hand because with spring, of course, comes allergy season. And I’m prone to them ALL! Nothing like a little extra relief when ya need it.
Watching the trees and flowers bloom. It’s just always so, so refreshing to finally see some GREEN and color again!
throwback photo from THIS old post – that photo is likely from 2008, I believe?!
Breaking out the grill. Simple dinners consisting of grilled chicken or steak and some veggies are some of my favorites once the weather starts warming up.
Welcoming the newest member of our family! I mean, of course I had to include that one.
How about you guys? What are you looking forward to this spring?
