Well I’m certainly loving the fact that we’ve already made it to Wednesday, how about you guys? I feel like the week has been going super quick so far, which is always appreciated. On top of that, we have a BBQ at work this Friday, and then it’s a 3-day holiday weekend. Heck. YES.
But for now, we’re still chuggin’ along in the work week, and I thought it would be fun to check in with another WIAW post. I really go through phases with these, but I’m having fun with them right now, so I’m going with it.
Breakfast
Two chocolate chip banana muffins (recipe coming next week!) with peanut butter and coffee (one muffin was eaten before I thought to snap a pic…they’re too good to wait!)
Mid Morning Snack
A vanilla Oikos greek yogurt (one of my favorite vanillas at that price point!) with some Love Grown Foods granola mixed in after.
Not What I Ate…but What I Did at Homegoods!
I had a couple of things I needed to return to Homegoods, so I headed out quick on my lunch hour to take care of that. While I was there, there was one other thing I was looking for and I was so excited to find it! I’ll share that in a sec…
I’ve also had my eye out for a table for our entryway, but I still just haven’t found “the one.” I feel like I have an idea/vision, and it’s just not popping up anywhere.
I’m sure it will in time, though!
A couple of other impulse purchases…
A chalkboard sign for on the pantry door.
Some pretty fake flowers originally bought for our master bath, but still not sure where they’ll wind up.
Some pretty artificial flowers and a vase (I technically bought these last week, but still), both in a pattern that matches the lamps and curtain rods I got from Target and am obsessed with.
Yes, in LOVE with them all. And that mantle is definitely still a work in progress.
Lunch
Once I got back to my desk, I got back to work while eating my packed lunch. A fresh salad with lots of veggies, dried cranberries, feta cheese, and grilled chicken.
No surprise there. I should really start thinking of some new ideas for work lunches…I’m sure it won’t be long before the salads get old again.
Mid Afternoon Snack
A peach & cherry almond dark chocolate goodnessknows bar. So good!
Once I got home, I changed right into my cozies…and speaking of, I am giddy over my new pair of Hamilton Sweatpants II (in Coal Heather) from Fabletics (affiliate link). They are SO comfy!
And as for that lovely thing there holding my reflection, that was the item I was in search of at Homegoods. A new full-length mirror for the bedroom! After buying way too many cheap, $7-8 dollar ones, I knew it was time to invest in something a little nicer. And, considering the fact that many of the ones like this I found online were $300+, the fact that this beauty was only $79.99 really sealed the deal for me.
I should probably take the packaging off, too. Hey, maybe now I’ll actually be able to get some better shots for the fashion posts around here?
Dinner
I was on my own for dinner since Jay had to work late, so I took care of Lucas’s dinner, then prepped something quick for myself: Brinner!
Two scrambled eggs with provolone cheese and spinach, along with some toast and butter. Simple, delicious.
While I ate my dinner, Lucas sat with me and made a necklace out of wheely pasta and twine. The project keeps this busybody rather still for a good amount of time, so we break it out every now and then when, you know, we want to be able to sit.
The two of us also split another banana chocolate chip muffin after dinner too (yum!).
Dessert
Shortly after Lucas went to bed, Jay still wasn’t home so I plopped myself on the couch to watch some Bachelor in Paradise with a nice big bowl of cookies ‘n’ cream ice cream.
Along with a little drizzle of caramel and some crushed Annie’s bunny cookies. Go big or go home.
So there it is…another WIAW (and home décor shopping) in the books!
Thanks, as always, for hosting, Jenn!
I’ll catch you guys tomorrow, make today a great one! <3
Can I just say how jealous I am that you work close enough to shop on lunch?! Maybe it is a good thing that I don’t, ha! Love the prints!
Love the mirror and pictures from Homegoods. I can do some serious damage when I stop in there!
Homegoods can be so dangerous! I love it, though, and the prices are great! Those frames are perfect- love the saying and font on them. I can’t wait to see a tour of your house with all these things hung up!
Cute sweat pants!
Thank goodness our homegoods is a 25 min drive. That place is dangerous!! Rumor has it that we just got a Nordstrom Rack too. Oye, my wallet!!! ?
Can I just copy your meals? Always amazing. I have no idea how you make it to work without eating anything or wanting to chew your arm off. I’d be cranky pants!
Maybe you could try different protein and roasted veg over greens for lunches to switch it up? Leftover burgers or sausages cut over spinach with sweet potatoes & avocado; big batch of chili with your favorite chip to dip (plantains are delish!) on the side; my new favorite is grilled chicken over spinach plus roasted squash/diced sweet potatoes & a hefty drizzle of almond butter for my dressing. Mmm! Happy Wednesday.
Hello ice cream! I’ve been digging raspberry cheesecake gelato lately… Like every night lol
I really love Home Goods, I bought so much great stuff there when we moved into our new house. I could get lost in there for hours!
Love the Fall flowers you picked up! My absolute favorite season :)
Have you thought of checking out Wayfair for your front entry table? I always have good luck with them, and (especially if you catch an extra-discount sale) the prices are pretty awesome. Looks like you guys are settling in really nicely so far!
Brinner is always a great choice. I’m loving the looks of these new home purchases! Exciting stuff :)
Your dessert looks beyond incredible! Brilliant crushing up those cookies… I feel like my dessert game has been forever changed :) Have a fabulous Wednesday!
Can I just say how much I LOVE your balanced meals throughout the day. Especially these days, it is actually REFRESHING to see someone rocking that ice cream and being PROUD (kind of sad that this is what society has come to…). I read so many blogs/Instagram posts that would call ice-cream a “chest” meal and I just think it is so ridiculous. So thanks for being a real human being:)
Thanks so much, Grace! It’s actually something that’s sort of been on my mind lately and I’m trying to figure out how to put all of my thoughts into a blog post. Maybe one of these days soon! But regardless, yes, ice cream is not a cheat. It’s a normal occurrence. :)
Ice cream is a necessity in my opinion:) Looking forward to that post!!
I’m definitely one of those people who packs the same thing for lunch over and over. This summer I had the same salad nearly every day at work-chicken, goat cheese, dates, and nectarine. It’s easy to get in a routine!
digging all the chalkboard details – so homey. that salad looks riiiight up my alley — i packed a similar one for lunch today, as i’m trying to do better about food shopping and actually bringing food and making meals. have a great rest of your week!
Those tables are super cute! Love!
Love me some HomeGoods!!! I could spend hours in there just walking around thinking about what I obviously NEED in my house!
Loving your HomeGoods finds! I’m hoping for a little shopping spree there this weekend myself to find a large basket for all our throw blankets that are now just piled on the floor – it’s so easy to lose yourself in those aisles :)
Home Goods is my favorite place ever! So affordable and great stuff! I redid my entire bedroom and stuck to my budget just by shopping there.
Shopping at HomeGoods should literally be labeled as an addiction- they have everything I need that I actually don’t need ;)!
Also, eggs and toast is the best ever meal, hands down, no matter what time of day!
