I’ve got something fun to share with all of you today, AND it even includes a little giveaway at the end, so check this out…
A few weeks ago, I was contacted by a lovely woman from Workouts on Demand.
Workouts on Demand is an online exercise site that showcases tons of online exercise videos that you can watch and use just about anywhere. The site allows you the option of either streaming the videos live from your computer, or you can download them via Flash or Windows Media Player. The site also typically adds one or two new videos each week, which is nice for those who might be looking to switch things up now and then.
Once I received my login for the site, I immediately noticed how user-friendly it was. When you click on the “Your Workout Selections” tab, you can quickly see the various categories of workout videos that are available.
After you click on a category, you are brought to a page that lists all of the exercise videos that are available for that particular category.
If you click on an exercise video within that list, you’ll get a drop-down box that gives you a brief summary of the workout, including the instructor, fitness level, equipment needed, and length of time. It also allows you to watch a short preview if you’d like, which I thought was a really key feature to include.
I must say…the Cardio Hip Hop #1 video looked pretty darn fun. If only I had those sort of moves.
One of the things that I also noticed and really appreciated with the various exercise videos, is the fact that they’re done in the setting that they’re advertised for. For example, the site is useful for people who would like to complete their workouts either at home or on the go; all of the workout videos I have seen are, in fact, in either a home or other small location. That way, you know that you’re going to have whatever space that you might need.
The one thing that I wish they had were maybe a few exercise videos that were devoted to pregnancy, but that’s really the only one thing I can be picky about. And honestly, that’s really being picky, because there are definitely plenty of workouts on there that I or anyone else who is pregnant could still do; it just might be helpful for those who aren’t quite as sure of what types of workouts should be done or avoided. FYI: For those who are also preggo:
- Always talk with your doc before getting involved in an exercise routine
- Keep the heart rate below 140 bpm (beats per minute)
- Avoid exercises that require you to lie on your back
- Don’t attempt to start any new exercises at this time; stick with what you’ve been doing before you were expecting

I wish that I could tell you that I’ve tried out a bunch of these videos over the past few weeks, but sadly, my overall exhaustion from the little prune has kept my workouts on the backburner for the past couple of weeks. I am slowly starting to feel like I may be ready for some shorter workouts though, which the site’s Express Workouts may come in quite handy for.
For those of you who may only need (or have time for) a quick workout, the Express Workouts section would probably be perfect for you (and me!).
Most of these workouts are only 7-15 minutes, which is great for those of us who may be on the go, or looking to space out workouts a little bit throughout the day (remember, 3 10-minute sessions are just as good as one 30-minute session!). I’m really hoping to incorporate some of these a few times a week over the next few weeks.

I would love to win because with 2 little ones at home it makes it hard to get to the gym so I usually end up working out at home. It would be nice to have more of a variety of choices!

This is awesome! I’m traveling all the time for work lately, and while it (thankfully) hasn’t been too awful keeping up with my workout schedule lately, I’m definitely not able to try as many new workouts as I’d like. This would be the perfect solution!

Since I can’t afford a gym membership and do all my work outs from home this would be amazing!! I find that videos are best for me because I get distracted otherwise! I would love to be able to try this!!
