Well, happy Memorial Day weekend to you all! I hope things are off to a great start for ya so far.
Last night after getting home from a quick shift at work, I quickly put together a few things together for dinner, then properly celebrated National Wine Day with a refreshing glass of pinto grigio out on the back deck.

Did anyone else celebrate with me yesterday?
Because it was such a nice night, we had Cody come out and join us outside for a bit. I was actually pretty excited because while I was out shopping with mom yesterday afternoon (which was such a fun time!) I ended up finally buying him a harness and a leash.

Unfortunately, tubby here is a little too big for the harness I bought (I bought one for a small dog, at the recommendation of the store owner) so I have to go back and exchange it for a bigger one. Luckily, for now, he’s still pretty mellow when he’s out with us and doesn’t travel far.
Dinner was delicious, and enjoyed al fresco…burgers (more info on those to come after the weekend…mmmm) garlicky green beans, and corn on the cob.

It wasn’t long before I was zonked out for the night and finally woke up feeling somewhat refreshed this morning…so much so, that I suddenly felt compelled to go for a run.
So I laced up my sneaks, ended up busting out about 5.75 miles with the always challenging 5-4-3-2-1 Treadmill Run, and it felt AWESOME. I’m pretty sure the last time any sort of mileage like that happened was back in January. How ‘bout that? ![]()
Breakfast
It is quite muggy here this morning, so put that on top of a sweaty run, and any sort of “heat” involved in breakfast was out the window. No worries though…

I made a batch of my last minute iced coffee.

And put together a delicious batch of muesli.

Today’s batch included a vanilla Chobani, a couple tablespoons of crushed pineapple (with juice to thin it out a bit), strawberries, and granola.

The pineapple made it so light, summery, and tropical…I LOVED it! Everything was chilly and delicious.
Now, as long as I can get my sweaty self showered up in time, I think I may head down to check out the Farmers Market and see what goodies I can find. Since it’s outside again, there’s always so much more variety.
Have a great Saturday everyone! ![]()

I ran outside this morning & made it just under 2 miles before I had to call it quits… it was pushing 80* by 8:30AM!
The addition of pineapple to your yogurt sounds yummy! I love pineapple Chobani, so I’m sure I’d love that too!

I can’t wait for our farmers market to start up again–just 2 more weeks! Something about locally grown fresh produce is so much more appealing that store bought!
We take our cats out on harnesses and leashes almost every day! They’re obsessed!

Cats typically don’t venture too far in the beginning and stay close to familiar/safe grounds (the house), but they get increasingly adventurous and their comfort zone circles get bigger. But it starts again each spring, they rediscover.
good luck with the harness

I love that you let your cat hang outside with you! I’m always so afraid my cat will climb up a tree or something and I won’t be able to get him down. Please report how the leash walking goes once you try!
