My Grandpa turns 80 in a few weeks which equals big family party and a trip back home for me for the first time in over 6 months. I couldn’t be more excited. Oh and some more big, exciting, and happy news in my life: I just bought my first house! Move in three days before I head home to see my family

My husband and I are getting to spend a lot more time together this summer because he’s on summer vacation from teaching and we aren’t traveling anywhere – it’s been really really nice to just be with one another every day!!

It’s a great day – beautiful sunshine, rain on the forecast (awesome for all of our fires here in Colorado), thankful for the all of the firefighters who have worked tirelessly putting out those fires and heading to hangoug with family and friends for a great BBQ, what’s better on a Wed?!

I ran 7.5 miles on the treadmill yesterday as part of my training for a 1/2 marathon in August. It’s the farthest I’ve run yet! I used to think running even 5.5 miles was a lot for me, but I’m gaining the confidence and strength to push myself and am loving the results

I enjoy relaxing in the mountains of North Carolina with my family. They go rowing or fly fishing while I settle in with a good book and soak up the fresh air and sun. It’s a very happy moment.

My happy is something I just found out 10ish minutes ago. You can see fireworks from the two neighboring towns from our back deck (we bought our house last August so this was exciting)

I have recently been trying to incorporate more veggies into my life. I moved from a little town and had never heard of farmer’s markets before. I cannot get enough of the fresh produce and how inexpensive everything is. They are now my newest addiction. Could be worse, right!

I finally got a raise at work after 2 years!

Today is my 30th birthday and I’m healthier and happier than ever thanks to an active lifestyle and mostly clean diet!
I’m happy because I have started eating healthy in the past 3 months and can already notice a difference in my energy level and physical appearance. I had a baby 7 months ago and realized it was finally time to start working on those extra leftover baby pounds, AND setting a good example for her of healthy eating.
