Okay, so over the weekend, Cody and I had a pretty great game of fetch going on.
We must have gone back and forth with his little fetch toy at least 15 times. Of course, he wound up batting it under the fridge more than half of those rounds.
I had my camera right nearby while we were playing, so I decided to try and take some “action” shots of him. I don’t know…call me a proud mama, but sometimes my Codester is just too cute not to share with all of you.
He had me cracking UP for a good ten minutes, which totally made my Sunday morning.
Out of all of his little photo shoot pics, this is probably my favorite one of all.
He sort of reminds me of a little kid on Christmas morning or something. Doesn’t he look all cute and super innocent? Too bad I know better, buddy.

Lunch
Despite the fact that I’m freezing and actually really craving something warm, I still wound up making myself a nice, big salad for lunch.
We have a ton of veggies, some of which are aging a bit too quick, so I threw a bowl together with a bunch of good stuff:
- spring mix
- cucumbers
- grape tomatoes
- yellow peppers
- baby carrots
- dried cranberries
- half an avocado
- a hardboiled egg (whites AND yolks – first time in a long time…not bad at all!)
- balsamic vinaigrette dressing
I loved how bright and colorful this salad was…and it was even better once I got a majority of the lettuce out of the way.
I also had a couple small slices of sun-dried tomato and mozzarella quick bread with butter.
I’m actually shocked that we still have some of this even left in the house?! Although I have a feeling that it’ll be close to gone after tonight’s dinner – it’s leftover night, thanks to our fridge piling up with last night’s leftovers and my leftover meatball soup. I’m starting to run out of roooooooom.

Well, the winds are really starting to pick up around here this afternoon, thanks to Sandy, so I’m feeling rather thankful that I took care of my errands earlier today. From what I’ve been hearing, it sounds like our area is going to be most effected by winds, rather than rain. Keep your fingers crossed that these winds don’t knock out our power, because that would be a serious bummer.
If you’re in the path of Sandy, please stay safe out there!!

Stay safe in the storm. Great cat photos! Love them. My cat loves those milk rings things too. It’s the best cat toy ever. Have a good day. ^)^

Cody is adorable! Thinking of you and everyone else and hoping you stay safe throughout the storm! My cat loves those things too, its so bizarre what cats will play with. My cat also really likes hair elastics and water bottle caps.

Its also national cat day!!! Yay!
Michelle@Peachy Palate says
God I hope you’re safe over there; it sounds terrible by what they’re reporting over here in Ireland.
You should quickly roast (about 15 minutes) your carrots, tomatoes and red peppers before mixing them with the rest of your salad for some warmth! Or throw some roasted pumpkin in the mix! :)

Your kitty pics are so cute….I wish I could get a cat but the hubby is allergic. Boo! I’ll live vicariously through your pictures.
Stay safe from the storm!!

Things are already getting crazy here in Lake George with the wind! I’m a little anxious since the lake already looked like this a few hours ago… http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qjrcGs0BRGc . Needless to say I don’t plan on moving from the house anytime soon :)

Awwr Cody is such a cutie. I really wish that I could have a kitty, but allergies make that kind of difficult. Hope Sandy doesn’t hit you too hard. Stay safe, girlie!

The only thing Sandy has done to NC is rob me of my TV signal. I was so exhausted today looking forward to catch up with the dvr once the kids were in bed but I guess not tonight!
Chelsea@Ahintofhealthy says
Too cute! The title of this post cracks me up!
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles says
Cody could almost turn me into a cat person! (not that I don’t like cats, I just prefer dogs).
I always get the lettuce out of the way first when I eat salads – than the last half is pure good stuff!
Katie says
I like the “getting the lettuce out of the way” comment. The toppings are what it’s all about.
Emilie @ Hungry Delights says
I can’t believe how much of a spaz my cat is – she waits until we are asleep and sneaks into the kitchen to chew on the kitchen sponge… wierdo but it is cool to see cody likes to fetch like my kitty Milly :)
Bek @ Crave says
Hahaha a cat that plays fetch- how adorable!
Natalia Baage-Lord says
You really do have one of the cutest cats ever. I started reading your blog two or three years ago, and I still “aww!” every time I see Cody. Such a sweetie!
Courtney says
Hahaha, thanks Natalia! I tend to think the same thing ;)
