Who Wants A Shopping Spree?

Happy Wednesday! How’s everyone doing today?

I’m going to be honest; my allergies are bothering me, I slept like garbage, and then ended up sleeping in until about 7:45 which was much later than I had planned. So now my schedule is all off, but hey…it could totally be worse, right?

Right! So let’s move on…there’s more exciting things to share with you all.

The idea of breakfast first thing sounded much more appealing than a workout first thing, so I rolled with it. Today, a buckwheat bowl was the name of the game.

I made my usual buckwheat base, and topped it with some Love Grown Foods granola, extra raisins, and a small scoop of Blizzard Butter.

It’s crazy how much I crave buckwheat over oatmeal now; I probably never would have tried it, had I not been given the opportunity to try it out from iHerb.com, which is actually pretty ironic, given the nature of the rest of this post. Winking smile

Point being…

A few weeks ago, I was contacted by iHerb.com, asking if I’d be willing to try out a new product of theirs called CocoCardio.

According to the package, CocoCardio™ is a premium, 100% natural (non-alkalized) dark cocoa beverage enriched with freeze-dried beet juice powder. Its main purpose is to support cardiovascular health and free radical scavenging.”

As soon as I opened up the bag, I could definitely smell the cocoa. It smelled amazing. I added a scoop to a mug full of hot water and stirred away.

The water actually turns a hint of red, from the freeze-dried beet juice.

The package warns that the product is “naturally quite bitter due to its naturally-occurring polyphenol content,” and they aren’t kidding! On its own, the CocoCardio is definitely very bitter, but I added a packet of Truvia and that helped a bit.

Honestly, I’d have to play around with it more to see exactly how I would like it best. While the packet of Truvia helped with the bitterness, I’d still like it a little sweeter. I think I was expecting it to taste more like normal hot cocoa mix, which is definitely not the case. Perhaps it would work well in a smoothie? We’ll have to see!

Then again…maybe one of YOU could come up with a great way to use it? That’s because…

iHerb.com is offering a $50.00 Shopping Spree + a free bag of CocoCardio to one lucky reader!!

A $50.00 Shopping Spree at iHerb.com is a serious deal; remember everything that I was able to get with my last shopping spree? It’s a foodie paradise!
