Goooooood morning, and Merry Christmas Eve to you all! I’m sure most of you are out and about on this fabulous day, so if you’re one of the few out there who may be reading this right now, then hello to you!
So far our Christmas Eve has been great, but our Christmas Eve Eve (or “Christmas Adam” as I’ve recently heard) was just as nice. Late yesterday afternoon, Jay and I headed over to my in-laws’ house for dinner. As always, we had some snacks to tide us over for the couple of hours before dinner.
Believe it or not, I actually went crazy for that veggie tray. The thought of salads is still hit or miss for me, but cut up veggies and dip was totally awesome yesterday.
Also equally (if not more) awesome were the party rye toasts.
I thoroughly enjoyed a few of those while we all sat and watched some football in front of the Christmas tree.
Once it started to get dark, Jay lit a fire and, honest to God, I soooooo wish we had a fireplace in our house. It’s just so warm and cozy, and there really is nothing like it. Someday!
I snagged a blanket and parked right in front of that fabulous fire for most of the night…with the exception of our break for dinner.
We started off with some salads before making it to the main course. On the menu?
Lasagna (and some warm bread from the oven).
Somehow I ended up with a pretty big whopper of a piece, so I couldn’t quite make it through the whole thing. But what I did make it through was quite yummy.
About an hour later, we broke into my Christmas brownies for dessert.
I baked them in an 11×7 pan, rather than a 9×13, which made them just a little bit thicker. Then having them topped with a big, thick layer of cream cheese frosting made them even more fantastic.
The pieces Jay wound up cutting were pretty monstrous, but I managed to work through that entire thing. It probably wasn’t in my best interest, since I felt pretty crappy afterward…but it was worth it.

So far, Christmas Eve has been absolutely GREAT over here!
But for now, I’m going to go ahead and enjoy the rest of the day.

*The Baby Tooth page was updated this morning! <–I have these posts set up to post directly to that page, so you won’t be seeing them on the homepage. If you subscribe via Google Reader, etc., then they’ll still show up for you that way, and they still get published on Twitter and Facebook…but in case you’re wondering why they aren’t showing up on the homepage like my usual posts, that’s why.

The brownie and lasagna look delicious, to say the least. Last night, I had Honey Mustard Chicken- it was tasty, but there wasn’t a lot of honey used.
Plans today include dinner with my uncle and family, church, and then opening presents afterwards. Have a merry Christmas, Courtney!

There’s definitely nothing quite like a good old fashioned fireplace. I have a gas one, but nothing beats the sound of logs crackling in the fire.
Merry Christmas Eve, Courtney! I have to finish up some last minute errands today, but tonight will be all about dinner, family, and presents :D
Chelsea @ LittleOneRuns says

Sadly, my office didn’t want to close for Christmas Eve (though my team rallied for it!), so I’m here, working, while my dad and sis are off watching “The Hobbit” and my mom is home waiting for her baby sis and family to arrive.
Tonight is church and family Christmas. Tomorrow, extended family Christmas.
Merry Merry to you, Jay and Baby Tooth!

Belated congratulations on the baby! Yay!!
I spotted the diet Pepsi can on the table and had to chime in…just in case it was yours!
You have to be super careful with diet drinks and artificially sweetened foods. There are a ton of articles online from reputable sources. When pregnant, I always cut diet soda and sugar-free items out of my diet. Things like agave or stevia are ok.
Happy Holidays! xoxo

No worries, it wasn’t my soda. ;)

Dessert looks yummy!
We spent today with immediate family. We played some games throughout the day and then had an early dinner full of everyone’s favorites from nachos to wings and veggies to lasagna! We all opened up our gifts that we got everyone after and then all hung out in the living room for the rest of the night. We always have a tradition to watch movies on Christmas Eve too so that’s going to start very soon!
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles says
My parents have a fireplace, and I’m obsessed with it. Definitely a must for the eventual dream home!

Merry Christmas Courtney! Do you know what kind or where you got your 11×7 pan? I love thicker brownies too and have been looking for that size pan with no luck! thanks!
Courtney says
It came as part of a Pyrex set, if that helps! :)
