I’m tellin’ you guys – I get an A+ for productivity today! I have been non-stop since 7am this morning and I don’t know what I’m more excited about: the fact that I’ve gotten so much accomplished, or that I’ve actually had the energy to accomplish it all. ;)
**On a quick side note…
For those of you who have been waiting very patiently for my Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes recipe…you can wait no longer!! I had to keep holding out on you guys because my recipe is actually featured as a guest post over on Carrots ‘N’ Cake today! Tina was kind enough to contact me last week to see if I’d be interested, so of course I said YES! Make sure you go check it out: http://carrotsncake.com/2010/09/guest-post-pumpkin-spice-cupcakes.html Thanks again, Tina! :)
Breakfast
Rather than stopping for a full, sit-down breakfast, I pretty much ate on the go this morning.
A pineapple flavored Chobani with 1/2 a sliced banana. Oh my god, why do I not get this flavor more often?? It’s amazing!
I also had at least 3-4 handfuls of Quaker Oatmeal Squares throughout the morning. You know how it is…leave the box open on the counter, grab a few every time you walk by. ;)
Ahhh, “A Clean House is a Happy House!”
So even though I have plenty left to do, I’m pretty happy with I have behind me. So far, I’ve:
- Vacuumed
- Dusted (blech!)
- Swept the kitchen floor
- Mopped the kitchen floor
- Washed a sink full of dishes
- Cleaned the stove top
- Cleared all the
junkstuff off the kitchen table (aka, our “catch-all” spot in the house) - Started decorating for FALL!!!…
Yes; a trip earlier to Wal-Mart to pick up a $4.00 photo order turned into a little fall decorating trip. Obsessed with fall much? Yes.
I bought these pumpkin & leave fillers for $6.00…totally worth it since I already had the bowl.
And this charger was only $3.00! I already had the candle holder/wax melter, and I used the remaining decorations that wouldn’t fit in the bowl above.
Yummmm! Old & New – I adore Yankee Candle :)
Pumpkins! Found these at the Christmas Tree Shop for $2.99 each last week. I was sold!
Pretty fall placemats – I got these last year from one of my bridal showers. I think they’re just so cute!
So I had to make sure to use ‘em for lunch. ;)
I told you I’d find a way to use my leftover fajita veggies! Mixed with a spring mix base and a little corn off the cob. So good, it didn’t even need dressing.
And the last of my whole wheat bread from The Fresh Market. Looks like it’s time to go get some more. :)
But until then, it’s time to get back to some housework and schoolwork…and maybe try to dig out the rest of my fall decorations from storage. Ahhhh, how I LOVE FALL! Hope you’re all having a great day!!
Question for the Afternoon:
Do you have a favorite scented candle?
I <3 decorating for fall!
I like your banana/yogurt arrangement ;)
Yankee candle Macintosh apple! By far my favorite fall (year round) scent!
PUMPKIN, especially this time of year… I like vanillas in the winter also.
Spring and summer call for fresh light scents, I had a fabulous passionfruit candle this summer that was YUM.
I love all of your fall decor… I cannot wait to carve pumpkins! :)
vanilla or Pumpkin spice by Yankee
most definitely Macintosh Apple, or Apple Pie :-) I was actually just thinking earlier I need to add them to my next shopping list, and time to put the Beach and Lemon scented candles away for next year.
PS – Go Courtney for all of your productivity today!!!
Bath & Body Works makes one this time of year called Leaves . . . it’s amazing!!!
I love scented candles! I always have one or two Glade candles on hand (I’m not fancy schmancy :-P). I am currently burning French Vanilla but my favorite is Angel Whispers.
i REALLY want to know what that farmers market candle smells like! i will be stopping at the Yankee Candle tomorrow while i am at work in the mall!
It’s FANTASTIC! It has fall written alllll over it. :)
Pumpkin Spice, hands down! I also love Sweet Pea scented candles.
I love pumpkin candles too, but I am always amazed by the smell of the Yankee Candle christmas cookie candle. Mmm!!
pineapple chobs = hands down best yogurt ever ever ever made! love it too :)
haha i just told my boyfriend today that tomorrow i was on a pumpkin candle buying mission, guess fall is just in the air! if only it didn’t bring winter right behind it though…. :/
I love all the pumpkin inspired things going on!! So fun!! I absolutely love pumpkin stuff :) And my favorite scented candle is buttercream icing and a cafe latte. Smells so good
I love everything about Fall. The colors and the flavors. Unfortunately though it is still pretty hot here in TX :( We usually skip the fall.. we go from Summer to spring to back to summer… its pretty sad.
I’m obsessed with the pomegranate chobani right now. I need to try the pineapple one! Adding bananas sounds SO good :)
Hi! I found your blog through the article you wrote for Tina… (those cupcakes sounds DELISH by the way!) Love your blog! Can’t wait to make some of your recipes! Um…smore brownies anyone?? ;)
Thank you!! YES, you must try the s’more brownies…they’re amazing! :)
What gorgeous fall decorations! I think my favorite fall candle scent is pumkin pie … or anything with cinnamon.
I saw your comment over at my blog, and wanted to leave you a link to my Cider Stew recipe. (Not sure how to make it an actual link, but you can cut and paste if nothing else.)

Oops … I meant pumpkin. (& I see the link worked.)
It’s always a good feeling to have an overly-productive day! I love all of your fall decor & my favorite cande is definitely Pumpkin Spice from Yankee!
Yes! One of my favorites! :)
I too am obsessed with Fall decor- my house is filled with it- I have this great leaves-garland up and down my stairs with orange lights, OMG it looks so awesome. Copied that from a great rustic restaurant out here. Anyway, love Candles too- I sometimes do Yankee but I often get like 25% of them that have NO smell. I’ve scored big with Gold Canyon candles (not sold in stores apparently, we get through a distributor here) and they have SOOOOOO Many more scents and they fill up the whole house. In the Fall I get some baked oatmeal cookie- OMG people walk in my house and just DIE at how good it smells. Also I do like that GC are cheaper than Yankee. I love Pumpkin Spice and then ones that smell like Christmas trees in the winter……I’m an addict. Totally!!
i LOVE Yankee Candle scents! pumpkin spice is my FAVORITE smell!
