A Slight Obsession With Fall Decor

By Courtney 24 Comments

I’m tellin’ you guys – I get an A+ for productivity today! I have been non-stop since 7am this morning and I don’t know what I’m more excited about: the fact that I’ve gotten so much accomplished, or that I’ve actually had the energy to accomplish it all. ;)

**On a quick side note…

For those of you who have been waiting very patiently for my Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes recipe…you can wait no longer!! I had to keep holding out on you guys because my recipe is actually featured as a guest post over on Carrots ‘N’ Cake today! Tina was kind enough to contact me last week to see if I’d be interested, so of course I said YES! Make sure you go check it out: http://carrotsncake.com/2010/09/guest-post-pumpkin-spice-cupcakes.html Thanks again, Tina! :)

Breakfast

Rather than stopping for a full, sit-down breakfast, I pretty much ate on the go this morning.

A pineapple flavored Chobani with 1/2 a sliced banana. Oh my god, why do I not get this flavor more often?? It’s amazing!

I also had at least 3-4 handfuls of Quaker Oatmeal Squares throughout the morning. You know how it is…leave the box open on the counter, grab a few every time you walk by. ;)

IMG_4824

Ahhh, “A Clean House is a Happy House!”

IMG_4839

So even though I have plenty left to do, I’m pretty happy with I have behind me. So far, I’ve:

  • Vacuumed
  • Dusted (blech!)
  • Swept the kitchen floor
  • Mopped the kitchen floor
  • Washed a sink full of dishes
  • Cleaned the stove top
  • Cleared all the junk stuff off the kitchen table (aka, our “catch-all” spot in the house)
  • Started decorating for FALL!!!…

Yes; a trip earlier to Wal-Mart to pick up a $4.00 photo order turned into a little fall decorating trip. Obsessed with fall much? Yes.

I bought these pumpkin & leave fillers for $6.00…totally worth it since I already had the bowl.

IMG_4831

And this charger was only $3.00! I already had the candle holder/wax melter, and I used the remaining decorations that wouldn’t fit in the bowl above.

IMG_4829

Yummmm! Old & New – I adore Yankee Candle :)

IMG_4835IMG_4836

Pumpkins! Found these at the Christmas Tree Shop for $2.99 each last week. I was sold!

IMG_4832

Pretty fall placemats – I got these last year from one of my bridal showers. I think they’re just so cute!

IMG_4837

So I had to make sure to use ‘em for lunch. ;)

IMG_4826

I told you I’d find a way to use my leftover fajita veggies! Mixed with a spring mix base and a little corn off the cob. So good, it didn’t even need dressing.

IMG_4827

And the last of my whole wheat bread from The Fresh Market. Looks like it’s time to go get some more. :)

IMG_4828

But until then, it’s time to get back to some housework and schoolwork…and maybe try to dig out the rest of my fall decorations from storage. Ahhhh, how I LOVE FALL! Hope you’re all having a great day!!

Question for the Afternoon:

Do you have a favorite scented candle?

PUMPKIN, especially this time of year... I like vanillas in the winter also. Spring and summer call for fresh light scents, I had a fabulous passionfruit candle this summer that was YUM. I love all of your fall decor... I cannot wait to carve pumpkins! :)

most definitely Macintosh Apple, or Apple Pie :-) I was actually just thinking earlier I need to add them to my next shopping list, and time to put the Beach and Lemon scented candles away for next year. PS - Go Courtney for all of your productivity today!!!

I love scented candles! I always have one or two Glade candles on hand (I'm not fancy schmancy :-P). I am currently burning French Vanilla but my favorite is Angel Whispers.

I love everything about Fall. The colors and the flavors. Unfortunately though it is still pretty hot here in TX :( We usually skip the fall.. we go from Summer to spring to back to summer... its pretty sad.

What gorgeous fall decorations! I think my favorite fall candle scent is pumkin pie ... or anything with cinnamon. I saw your comment over at my blog, and wanted to leave you a link to my Cider Stew recipe. (Not sure how to make it an actual link, but you can cut and paste if nothing else.) http://kyree90.wordpress.com/2009/11/30/one-thing-i-ate-right-this-weekend/

I too am obsessed with Fall decor- my house is filled with it- I have this great leaves-garland up and down my stairs with orange lights, OMG it looks so awesome. Copied that from a great rustic restaurant out here. Anyway, love Candles too- I sometimes do Yankee but I often get like 25% of them that have NO smell. I've scored big with Gold Canyon candles (not sold in stores apparently, we get through a distributor here) and they have SOOOOOO Many more scents and they fill up the whole house. In the Fall I get some baked oatmeal cookie- OMG people walk in my house and just DIE at how good it smells. Also I do like that GC are cheaper than Yankee. I love Pumpkin Spice and then ones that smell like Christmas trees in the winter......I'm an addict. Totally!!
