Happy Thanksgiving Eve everyone!! :-D
I enjoyed a nice extra couple hours of sleep this morning before heading down to the basement for a workout. I actually found this workout last night while reading through an old issue of Shape magazine, so I adapted it to suit me:
0-5 mins | Warm Up | 4.5(mph) |
5-8 | Run at moderate pace | 6.0 |
8-9 | Sprint | 8.8 |
9-10 | Run at moderate pace | 6.0 |
10-20 | Repeat minutes 8-10 five times | 6.0 – 8.8 |
20-21 | Run with high knees | 3.0 |
21-22 | Run at moderate pace | 6.5 |
22-23 | Run doing butt kicks | 3.0 |
23-24 | Run at moderate pace | 6.5 |
24-26 | Do 1 minute high knees + 1 min butt kicks | 3.0 |
26-28 | Run at moderate pace | 6.5 |
28-30 | Cool Down | 4.5 |
I followed up my treadmill workout with a new Abs video I found on Exercise on Demand: Rock Hard Body Abs. It was a GOOD one! :)
Breakfast
Since I had the extra time this morning, oatmeal was definitely a necessity. (I love my little punkins’!) ;)
In today’s mix:
- 1/3 cup oats
- 1/3 cup vanilla almond milk
- 1/3 cup water
- 1/2 mashed banana
- vanilla
- cinnamon + pumpkin pie spice
- raisins
- homemade pumpkin butter
- Topping: small scoop peanut butter + 1/2 pumpkin muffin (from my co-worker, Darcy…thanks Darcy!) :)
The combo of the pumpkin butter in the oats + the pumpkin muffin on top definitely rocked my world this morning.
All stirred up!
I had a few errands to run earlier today, so while I was out, I decided a stop into Starbucks was necessary. I had planned on just getting my norm, but something about the Peppermint Mocha Latte was totally calling out to me…
The cute little chocolate curls were already enough, but ohh my goodness…once I took a sip of this bad boy?
I was in LOVE! I even gave it lipstick kisses. ;)
Before ordering, I actually asked the barista how much of the syrup & sauce goes into a normal grande, which apparently is 4 pumps mocha + 4 pumps peppermint. Yikes! That sounded a little intense for me, so I ordered mine non-fat, with 2 pumps mocha + 2 pumps peppermint and it was absolutely perfect. I think any more than that would have been too sweet for me. I will definitely be getting this again! YUMM. :-P
So I am sooooo excited right now! In a few minutes, my friend Kate is coming to pick me up for a girly movie date:
I’ve been waiting to see Burlesque ever since I saw the first preview a month or so ago…YAY! :-D
After the movie, we’re meeting up with the hubbies for a night out with some dinner and drinks…it IS Thanksgiving Eve and all! ;)
Question for the Day:
Do you (or have you) ever go out to celebrate on the “Biggest Party Night Of The Year?”
I want to see Burlesque too! Everyone is too busy right now to go with me though :(
I actually wasn’t sure about this drink but now I’ll have to try it ;). I thought it would be too much but reducing the syrups is definitely a good idea :).
I’m totally jealous! I would love to go see Burlesque! And I love the peppermint syrup at Starbucks! I had a regular black coffee with just one pump of it the other day and it was divine!
I want to see that!!! It reminds me of Moulin Rouge, which I LOVE.
2 pumps of each does sound like it would be the perfect amount. I’ll have to remember to order that way the one time I go and get one of those.
Definitely! Me and the hubby are going out for happy hour after work! Can’t wait for the bubbly! ;)
One of my first blogs was about how to reduce the cals in my fave Sbux drinks and my recommendation was to do 2 pumps of each for the peppermint mocha with nonfat milk and no whip. It comes in at about 210 calories vs the 350 or so.
Cute sunglasses btw :)
love the workout, breakfast, sbucks drink idea, sunglasses, and reminder that i definitely need to go see burlesque with my sister. :]
and considering your love for pumpkin and after seeing your breakfast this morning, i just felt compelled to share this recipe that i found on a blog-site with you. i have made them twice now and they are absolutely incredible.

i used regular pumpkin butter both times, and the second time i used the largest jar of it i could find (about 18oz) and they were greaaat that way. i also increased the spices (more cinnamon and added pumpkin pie spice) which was a great improvement as well. cook time, depending on your oven, may need longer. they cool and harden slightly though of course. hope you get to try these in the near future–im sure you’ll love ’em!
happy thanksgiving!
OH MY GOSH, thank you for sharing! They look AMAZING!!!
I wish some of the coffee shops around me would start getting inspired by Christmas.
Me and my neighbors had a pre- Thanksgiving party. It was great, once the drinks were consumed I could walk across the sidewalk and be home!
Happy Thanksgiving!
I loooove your sunglasses!! Happy Thanksgiving to you and your fam!
Thanks! $15 at JCPenney. ;)
Love love love the peppermint mocha!
Love pep. mocha! Burlesque looks fab :D Happy Turkey Day to you & your fam! :)
