It’s been a while since we had one of these posts over here, hasn’t it? They’re a fun mix of two of my favorite things though, so I feel like I want to start doing them more often!
So in terms of the fashion talk…ahh, I wish I had some more fun or “fashionable” outfits to share today. But, sadly, I’ve really been lacking in the creativity department. I have no doubt that my closet has a myriad of pieces that could certainly put together a great outfit…but when it comes to the mornings, I give myself all of about 5 minutes to pick out and iron an outfit, so there’s that.
I need help…any personal stylists out there want to come and revamp my wardrobe for meeeee?!? I pay in wine and cupcakes.
Well, until that happens, I guess I’ll just go ahead and share what I’ve got for ya today. I haven’t taken too many photos lately, since some of these outfits date back to nearly Christmas…I guess I’ll have to work on that.
A “hanging out with the in-laws the day after Christmas” look…
- Sweater: London Sweater in Cannes via Express
- Leggings: HUE leggings via Nordstrom
- Boots: Kaylor Slouchy boots via Target
A weekend birthday party (from a couple of weeks ago) look…
- Sweater: PAPERMOON Delphina Striped Knit Top via Stitch Fix
- Skinny Jeans: Gap Outlet
- Boots: Bear Traps via Macy’s (from a few years ago, but the Kyletta is similar)
- Bag: Urban Expressions Otis Mixed Material Crossbody Bag via Stitch Fix
- Necklace: Claire’s (from a few years ago)
A more casual “didn’t give myself time to wash my hair” work day look…
- Turtleneck Sweater: Gap (from a couple of seasons ago but similar, similar, similar)
- Jeans: Just Black via Stitch Fix
- Boots: Kaylor Slouchy boots via Target
An “I’m adding a sweater because the office was FREEZING yesterday” work day look…
- Sweater: Open Front Cardigan via Old Navy (similar, similar)
- Shirt: Button Front Shirt via Old Navy (similar)
- Pants: Kut From The Kloth Danny 5-Pocket Knit Pant via Stitch Fix
- Boots: So old…can’t remember! But similar, similar, similar.

Now let’s switch gears a bit…I have some random food photos I found on the iPhone the other day, so I figured, hey, why not share ’em!? And if I already have shared some and am just losing my mind then, well, forgive me. ;)
This was a quick, throw-together weeknight meal a couple of weeks ago. Some marinated chicken tenders cooked on the griddler, paired with some roasted fingerling potatoes and broccoli. Nothing fancy, but quick and easy for sure.
This was another quick weeknight meal, not much different than above. Grilled chicken, rice, and green beans. I feel like this here is part of the reason I’ve decided to get back into the meal planning mode…dinners had been getting BOR-ING.
Here’s a random photo of a plate full of the cookies I made recently. Jay and I scarfed those down, most likely while watching Orange is the New Black…which, by the way, we finished watching on Monday night (after watching the last three episodes in a row until almost 11pm…). Time to pick a new show!
Oh, Testo’s. We absolutely LOVE their food, and anytime we’re feeling lazy and want something delivered, we tend to go for Testo’s. Their Pasta Fagioli is, hands down, my favorite thing…buuut, their meatballs come in at a close second. So when we ordered from them recently, I got the best of both worlds: the appetizer sized soup (which was still big enough for two servings) + 2 meatballs.
And for those of you who ask…Testo’s is where we wind up with all of the containers I like to use for my salads (see below)!
Here was another one of my lunch salads from earlier in the week. You already saw what my bases look like (lettuce/spinach, cucumbers, shredded carrots, grape tomatoes, onion, and dried cranberries are typical for me), and then the night before, I’ll add the rest. For this salad, it was grilled chicken tenders and a blob of goat cheese (currently obsessed right now) with dressing and croutons on the side. Mmmm mmmm.
Now here is a box full of cookies that, somehow, wound up on my desk at work earlier this week. We’ve had some of our remote employees in for company events this week, and I believe that these came from someone who works in our UK office. Again, I don’t know how they wound up on my desk, but that was TROUBLE.
They were pure deliciousness…and, actually, reminded me a lot of the cookies they make here in the blue tin. SO good.
Well, there ya have it! A little mix of everything today. ;)
