Wow. I can’t believe it’s been almost two weeks since I last had the chance to post?!
To say it’s been a little bit busy and stressful this past week and a half would be quite an understatement, and I still have so much to catch you guys up on.
For those of you who follow me on Instagram, you already know that we unexpectedly spend three days in the PICU for our sweet Alex, who came down with an infection in his toe. The whole thing was a whirlwind, and we’re still in the midst of all sorts of follow up doctors visits and whatnot.
I’m planning on sharing more details on all of that soon, likely next week once we’re a little bit more settled. Hopefully. But for now, he seems to be doing well, thank goodness.
Thankfully, Alex was discharged from the hospital a couple of days before Christmas, so we managed to have a really nice Christmas day, despite feeling like I was scrambling for everything last minute. I was so appreciative of my mom offering to help take care of all of the food I was planning on making <3
We’ve also been trying to have a little extra fun with Lucas this week, who I’ve just felt so guilty about, with Alex needing so much of our attention lately. He’s been a bit more easily agitated, but we really are trying our best to make sure he’s having some fun on his week off this week.
Yesterday morning we brought him (and Alex) bowling (which didn’t go very well…Mr. Competitive was getting rather upset about not being able to get a strike every time…)
And then yesterday afternoon, Jay and I attended a Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert with him and my mom (unfortunately, my dad got stuck at work and couldn’t make it). THAT he definitely seemed to enjoy, and he loved watching the light show and dancing along to the music.
So overall, things have been hectic, but they haven’t been all that bad. My stomach is still in knots all of the time lately, worrying about one kid or the other, and I’m really just hoping that we can all enter into 2018 both healthy and happy. That’s all I’m wishing for <3
I know this post is a bit random, but I just had to pop in and share a little bit since it had been so long. I’ll try to be back soon, but in case it’s not before the new year, I wish you ALL a very healthy and happy one! And be safe!!
