#WIAW: Out of Habit

By Courtney 32 Comments

Wednesday already?!? Holy moly. Well, I guess that only means one thing…

It’s time for another WIAW! Or, as usual, it’s technically “what I ate Tuesday,” but you get the idea. Yesterday wound up being a bit of a snacky day for me, resulting in what felt like I was eating all day long. Hey, I never mind that!

Here we goooooo…

Breakfast – 8:00am

As always, this is old news.

IMG_9138

But delicious news, indeed.

Mid-Morning Snack – 11:00am

While I was out taking care of some Christmas shopping, I snacked on a KIND bar that I had stashed in my purse.

IMG_0735

LOVE this kind <—pun intended. Winking smile I also had half of a granny smith apple before leaving the house which didn’t make the camera.

Mini Lunch/Snack #1 – 1:30pm

Shortly after I got back from shopping, I wasn’t starving but definitely needed something to eat. I figured I’d start off small and see if I needed more from there…

IMG_9141

I snacked on a vanilla Chobani, mixed with pumpkin and topped with half of a banana and Love Grown Foods granola.

IMG_9142

And also had half of the rest of my Snapple that I had opened yesterday. I actually totally forgot that these were out in our mini fridge in the garage, so I’ve been sipping on them for the past couple of days.

IMG_9144

Notice the creeper striking once again.

Mini Lunch/Snack #2 – 3:45pm

The yogurt was enough to keep me satisfied for a couple of hours, but I eventually needed something else so I toasted up a waffle and topped it with some pumpkin + peanut butter.

IMG_9146

Why do I not eat waffles as a snack more often???

Dinner – 6:30pm

Seeing as though I was running on absolutely zero veggies for the day, I figured I should include some in at dinner.

IMG_9150

I let Jay finish up the rest of our alfredo leftovers, while I used up some of the leftover grilled chicken to put in a nice big salad.

Along with the chicken, I had lettuce, sugar snap peas, cucumbers, tomatoes, roasted broccoli, and onions tossed in about 1/2 tbsp EVOO + balsamic vinegar + dried oregano and basil.

IMG_9152

For a little added crunch, I toasted a couple thin slices of marble rye and topped them with some Smart Balance.

IMG_9153

Hit the spot, for sure.

After Dinner Dessert– 9:00pm

I honestly was not even hungry at all for anything after dinner, but I knew these were in the fridge and went and got them out of habit.

IMG_0737

I know you like my fancy frosting work. Winking smile

And there ya have it – not my best WIAW, but hey, we can’t all eat perfect all the time now can we?

Happy Wednesday, friends!!

The creeper cat cracked me up, once again! And those frosted cookies look delicious, even if they don’t look professionally frosted ;)

I’ve always wondered that and found it funny, since I’ve never participated in WIAW. But don’t you end up showing the foods you ate Tuesday? (Unless the Wednesday post goes up after dinner.) Hehe.

My days definitely look similar to this when it comes to portions: smaller and more snack-like. I like it that way! Eating more is a definite plus, and smaller meals seem easier on my stomach.

I’d be going for those cookies too…and no shame on the decorating, my cookie decorating skills are poor at best :-p

I love KIND bars. So tasty and a great grab-on-the-go snack :) And I’m the same way…I may not be hungry, but if I know there’s a delicious treat I made somewhere, I always want to sneak a taste!

Marbled rye has to be one of the best inventions ever made! (other than the Chobani + Love Grown combo, that one is pretty spectacular too :))

I’m a big snacker too… a snack-o-holic, if you will. ;) Yum, your decked out chobani yogurt puts my plain one to shame. I’ve got to try sprucing mine up with some extra goodies aside from chia seeds. #YogurtEnvy :D
