1. Yesterday was an amazing day. I was able to reschedule my “call in well” day and spent the morning being pampered. It started out with an early morning prenatal massage (which absolutely rocked my world…those pillows with the belly and boob holes are heaven), and followed up with a trip to Starbucks and a much-needed pedicure.
Decaf caramel macchiato, for the win. I was like a brand new woman after all that!
2. So I had THE most fun Tuesday night while taking part in the Taboo Mom Talk with Colleen and Stephanie.
Unfortunately, the platform we were using (Blab) was experiencing a bunch of technical difficulties so we had to cut our session short by about a half hour. BUT, we’re hoping to be able to get it up and running again for next week. I noticed a few familiar faces on there (YAY! Thanks for joining!) and I hope that we’ll be able to all do it again soon. In case you’re interested, you can check out the recording of what we could put together here! I’ll keep you updated on if we’re going to be up and running next week.
3. I came across this post earlier in the week after a few people shared it on my Facebook feeds: Work, Sleep, Family, Fitness, or Friends: Pick 3. It REALLY resonated with me because, damn, it IS hard to be able to fit it all in!! For me, I definitely sacrifice sleep (for now) to fit in fitness, and I will often have to sacrifice family for friends (not that it’s necessarily a sacrifice, but time with friends has definitely gotten shorter since we’ve begun growing our family). I think for everyone these will change with each season of life, but I’m curious…what are your three??
4. You guys…I actually got this little stud to eat carrots for a snack earlier this week. CARROTS. And then he even ate his dinner after that. I felt like I was totally winning at the mom life.
5. I’m very much debating on making some cupcakes this weekend. It’s been a while, and the guys Jay works with are always asking for them (one of their favorites are the Neapolitan Cupcakes with Ice Cream Frosting…can’t blame ‘em for that!), but I’m really dying for some Double Chocolate Nutella Cupcakes…
I think I may need to make that happen. Umm, yes. Baby says so.
6. Sometimes, not having to dirty an extra dish is just THE best way to go, right?! So, a salad in a lettuce container is the name of the game.
7. So I bought a bag of these mini bags of vanilla cupcake graham Goldfish around Valentine’s Day for Lucas to give to his buddies at daycare. I’m pretty sure the bag I bought has about 40 bags of these…and he only has 3 friends at daycare. Sooo…
More snacks for meeeeeee.
8. I seriously love the smell of the Mrs. Meyer’s Lemon Verbena dish soap. It screams summer and totally reminds us of when we lived with our friends Kanika and Shaheen this past summer.
9. I am getting SO excited for spring…and I’m more than ready (even though this winter really hasn’t even been that bad!). We’re hoping to have a plan soon so we can work on building a new deck on the back of our house (we really just have a small landing right now) so we’ll have somewhere to sit and relax with family and friends.
(how I miss our old deck…and that party!)
Ahhhh, I can’t wait to be able to sit and relax outside where it’s warm.
Alright, looks like I don’t have the brainpower to make it to 10 fun facts today, so I’m calling it quits! I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend ahead, whatever you may be doing! <3

Family, fitness and sleep are my three. What an interesting read. And let me say, I am with you counting down to spring! It’s going to hit 50 degrees in Michigan today!!
Hilary says
Oh what I would do for your Thursday morning! That sounds fabulous, thinking I may have to treat myself to something like that soon in the future!
Jen says
It disgusts me you call your two yo a stud. You realize you’re calling him promiscuous right?
Courtney says
Hahaha, no Jen, I’m not calling my two year old son promiscuous. C’mon now, really?
c says
Wow…lighten up.
Jen says
Would you call your daughter a slut? It’s the same thing. But it’s ok because he’s a boy?
Courtney says
Well society must have it wrong then. Because I sure have seen a lot of Carters clothes with the word stud on them, but I don’t think I’ve seen any little girls with ‘slut’ on them. Weird?
Carrie says
Jen! Please!! Lighten up is right!! You are really going to extremes!!
Pam S says
I definitely need to get some of those mini vanilla goldfish bags! It’s so easy to eat half of the normal bag, they are my fav!
Linz @ Itz Linz says
I would love to have a big deck like your old one! Love that! Your pampered morning sounds fabulous!
Jenna @ Crazy Healthy Fit says
My 3 are definitely Work, Family, and Fitness. Sleep and Friends get put on the back burner, unfortunately.
Kaelin says
I am balancing sleep, fitness, and family. But I do work, just not creating an empire, and we see our friends more than family because we live far away from family, so friends are sort of lumped into family – framily?
It’s a super interesting idea and I totally buy it. Something has to give.
Melissa @ Freeing Imperfections says
I was so sad the talk had issues again! I hope you get to join in again :)
Way to go for carrots! I see Lucas’s PB Kids chair – is that the medium sized one? I want to get my daughter one for her first birthday but can’t decide on the small or medium size. Thoughts?
I also LOVE Mrs. Meyer’s Clean Day anything. I use the basil dish soap. It makes everything smell so good!
Shawna says
that’s an interesting thing to ponder, the “choose 3” thing. on a day-to-day basis, work, fitness and sleep are all things i have to prioritize to keep my life balanced and rolling here, but people are my favorite thing, so i make a point to talk to my family every day (none of them live near me unfortunately so i can’t even have the option of seeing them regularly), and communicate with at least a couple of my close girlfriends daily (and of course my man), so i do what i can with relationships –but time spent with them def takes a backseat when i’m working 2 jobs, running or at gym every morning and sleeping a lot. i think it’s all about balancing what you can when you can.
Taylor says
What a nice day of pampering! love it! I get massages often to “pamper” myself. I definitely sacrifice sleep for fitness sometimes if it is the only time I can get it in and I do stay up too late to spend time with my husband. I’ll sleep when I’m dead right? ;)
Jenna @ Crazy Healthy Fit says
I just watched your ‘Mom Talk’ replay and loved it! I’d love to hop on any future ones :)

Getting a stretch of brightness here now…not dark till about 6pm!!! Spring / Summer is on the horizon!
Ellen @ My Uncommon Everyday says
I hear you about spring! The temperature and the sun combined juuuust right to make it not even jacket weather and it’s the BEST. I can’t stop smiling – for no reason except that it’s gorgeous outside!
Ellen @ My Uncommon Everyday says
Also, your Neapolitan Cupcakes are some of my absolute favorites :)
Lauren @ Oh Hey! I Like That! says
Look, if the baby needs the cupcakes, then you can’t disappoint the little guy! ;)
Julia @ Lord Still Loves Me says
If I were the recipient of said cupcakes, I’d go for the double chocolate nutella ones… ;) But that’s just me!
Hope you have a beautiful weekend, Courtney!
Shelly says
I’ve never seen those goldfish before. My son is obsessed with them. My likes his carrots cooked and warmed. So, I make a batch of them, keep the in the fridge and warm them as he’s ready for them.
Julie says
Family, fitness & sleep.
Ha ha I make my salads in the lettuce container too. :P
