So pretty much everyone in my blog reader always does their “Friday Favorite” posts, which I love. Buuuut it’s only Tuesday and I’ve got some favorites I wanna share now. Five of ‘em, to be exact!
First, I got this month’s Stitch Fix delivery on Saturday and it is probably my absolute favorite fix yet! (In case you’re new to Stitch Fix, you can read more details about the service in my first post about them).
I’ve gotten six fixes now (one a month for the past six months) but I haven’t blogged about it in a while because I just hadn’t really loved my last few. The items were either the wrong size or just not my style, and I was honestly starting to get a little bummed. But I figured I’d give it another shot, and I’m SO glad I did. Here’s a look at my five keepers:
Market and Spruce Trina Crochet Detail Tab-Sleeve Shirt — $48.00
Loved the extra detailing at the top, the extra “puffs” on the sleeves, and the longer length. I’m thinking this could look really cool with some dark grey/charcoal leggings, boots, and a scarf for fall.
I think I’m just gonna need a strapless bra. Ugh. #hatethose
Under Skies Joya Floral Print Split Neck Tab Sleeve Top — $38.00
I was immediately drawn to the colors and pattern on this top when I pulled it out of the box and was happy to see it fit as well as I’d hoped.
I’m sure it’ll look even better when, you know, I put an iron to it.
Pixley Kathryn Pearl Cluster Bauble Necklace — $58.00
I looooooove this necklace, you guys. I’d been looking for a necklace like this for a while (I even pinned a couple on Pinterest) and this is perfect. It’s also adjustable, which is nice, so it’ll work with plenty of different tops.
Kut From The Kloth Danny 5-Pocket Knit Pant — $68.00
Ignore the dirty mirror shot, please
These things fit like. a. glove. I love how they’re stretchy like a legging, but have pockets and stitching like a regular pant. A total winner.
And finally, my absolute favorite item in this month’s fix…
Emperia Clarita Messenger Bag — $58.00
I cannot even begin to tell you how long I’d been looking for a brown messenger bag. Months, easily.
But this bag was a keeper the moment I took it out of the box. I love the color, the size, the style, and especially, the extra pockets.
The extra front pocket there is perfect for holding those few things I always need access to quickly (phone, keys, sunglasses, gum), and the extra little clutch is perfect for when you just need a little something smaller.
Overall, with the 25% discount for keeping all 5 pieces, my total for this fix came to about $167.00, which I think is totally reasonable. Thank you, Stitch Fix, for an amazing fix!! If you haven’t tried it out yet and have been toying with the idea, I say just go for it!
As for the rest of my favorites today…
This chocolate bar. I found it at Target last week, bought it, and left it in my desk at work. Forgot all about it until yesterday. WOW.
I’m going to try to just eat a square or two a day…yeeeeeah, we’ll see about that.
Our completed DIY project…check it out!
Jay and I finished our coat hook shelf on Sunday, hung it, and decorated it. I am so incredibly thrilled with how it came out. I’m planning on sharing some details on how we went about making it soon, since many of you have asked.
Speaking of DIY projects…another favorite of mine today is the second project that’s underway!
I mean, I don’t even know who we are anymore over here? Since when did we get so freakin’ crafty?!
And finally, my last favorite today would have to be last night’s dinner.
In this month’s Cooking Light magazine, there was a recipe for Seared Tilapia with Spinach and White Bean Orzo. It looked super easy and quick so I added it to the dinner menu for this week and it turned out great. Searing fish is definitely the way to go for me these days. How do you guys like to cook your fish?
Alright, my friends, that’s a wrap! What are some of your favorites so far this week?

Kim @FITsique says
Oh I love love love that floral top and messenger bag! I want to try stitch fix, but the prices are a little out of my student budget for now. The coat hook looks great, you are going to need to do a how to post for your crafts!
Andrea @ Pencils and Pancakes says
The crafts are so cute. I don’t have anything remotely as festive in my house….I fail.
Brynn says
LOVE those black pants! The whole fix is beautiful. The bag is awesome, too. Such a great staple piece. And your coat hook is adorable! You’re on a roll!
Stacie @ SimplySouthernStacie says
Looks like you got a great fix too! I love that messenger bag. I always forget that they have bags and purses. I think I told my stylist not to send me any, but I may have to rethink that now.
Stacey M. says
Awesome Fix this time for sure … I love that those pants have stitching and buttons like “real” jeans too – it probably makes you feel like you’re actually wearing pants instead of yoga pants lol.
Your DIY projects are looking great … maybe you could send Jay over to give me a hand with some of mine since he’s becoming such a professional with it all? ;)
Definitely pinned the tilapia and orzo salad recipes … they both look yummy!
Carrie says
I’m totally old school and ripped out the Tilapia and Orzo Salad recipe page from the magazine! After looking at your picture, now I really can’t wait to make it!
Also, I received a purse from Stitch Fix that I absolutely love!
Courtney says
Hahaha, me too!! Sometimes, magazines are so much better.
haley @Cupcakes and Sunshine.com says
obsessed with your stitchfix!! and let’s talk about that chocolate bar really quickly…incredible!
Caitlyn @ City and the Cubicle says
Oooh what a great fix! I get mine in a week – I’m getting a little antsy, haha.
Erica House says
That bag is perfect!
Melissa @ Freeing Imperfections says
Wow what a great Stitchfix! I love both those tops, absolutely love the necklace, and the bag! Lucky you!
I really love your shelf too. So cute!
Ashley @ A Lady Goes West says
There are just not enough super-long tops in this world. Love that blue one, as well as the necklace. I’ve not tried out StitchFix yet, because I have such good shopping nearby in SF, but maybe one day!
jillian says
that navy top looks great! annnd i want that toffee! yum. xo jillian – stop by! I’m hosting a $150 Tieks gift card giveaway on cornflake dreams
Heather @ Housewife Glamour says
I love all of those items in your fix! I would have totally kept all of it too. You would probably be fine wearing a nude bra with that navy top! ;)
Courtney says
Haha, that was a nude bra I was wearing in the pic… ;)
Heather @ Housewife Glamour says
Haha, whoops! Welp, looks like the strapless might be the best choice. Good call! ;)
Ashley @ My Food N Fitness Diaries says
You totally got a winner of a Stitch Fix box! Love everything! I’m envisioning that navy top with some leggings and boots too – so perfect for fall! And I’d have to agree with Heather above. I think you could totally get away with a nude bra and not have to wear a strapless. And that messenger bag really is perfect! What brand is it?!
Once again, LOVE your DIY shelf! You guys did on awesome job on it.
Courtney says
It’s the Emperia Clarita Messenger Bag!
Lauren @ The Bikini Experiment says
Those pants look great on you! Overall a really nice “fix” of items. Enjoy your new things!
Lauren says
That shelf came out amazing! Love it.
I’ve been trying to find that bag all morning, it would be the perfect bag for me to carry around on weekends.
Nicole @ Squash on Squash says
I love that messenger bag! I’ve read so much about stitch fix but haven’t bit the bullet and tried it… and everyone always raves about it!
Hannah @ CleanEatingVeggieGirl says
Both are those tops are SO cute and I LOVE that bag! It looks like you received a really great fix!
Marielle says
All of those tops are SO adorable!! I’ve heard of Stitch Fix…but might need to look into it a little more now!
Maddie says
I LOVE everything from this fix! The floral print top is so pretty!
Hillary | Nutrition Nut on the Run says
That bag is SO cute and you’re smokin’ in those skinnies!!
Nicole says
Definitely a nude bra for under that top…or, when the weather gets colder, you can always wear a little strappy blue tank top and bra underneath (Target almost always has those available….at least in CA they do!).
LOVE that necklace and the messenger bag. I wouldn’t mind if both of those ended up in my next ‘Fix!
Courtney says
Pin them to your style/fashion board on Pinterest!! They’ll look at that kind of stuff ;)
Allison says
Really glad to hear that you liked you fix. I have been doing it for several months. The first was fantastic, the rest have not been particularly good. I haven’t loved the clothes, didn’t like the way the fit, etc. Fingers crossed for the next one.
Courtney says
Fingers crossed!! I’d say don’t lose hope yet – especially after the last one I just got :)
Sam @ Better With Sprinkles says
You definitely got a great ‘fix’ this time around! I love the pants and the necklace, specifically – so pretty!
Sara @ Lake Shore Runner says
Love everything, but I really love the pants :) Just pinned them so I can maybe get them in my next Stitch Fix
Karri says
I love all of these! Thanks for sharing! Speaking of DIY have I somehow missed the final bathroom makeover picture? And also, switching gears a bit lol how do you make your messy bun that you have been sporting? Thanks! :-)
Courtney says
Haha, maybe?! I shared our almost finished bathroom (which, coincidentally, is still not any closer to being finished, haha) – https://www.sweettoothsweetlife.com/2014/08/14/almost-finished-bathroom-remodel/
And my messy bun? Haha, oh gosh…I literally just half tie my ponytail around a hair tie (don’t pull the pony all the way through). It’s my lazy hair “do” ;)
Lisa says
Thanks for posting your Stitch Fix haul. I’ve been wondering if you’d ever post another fix. I just received my fourth fix and am in love with it. I’ve never had a bag in my fix yet. How’d you swing that? The bag looks amazing.
Courtney says
Thanks! I just requested it in the notes on their site! You can add a note for your stylist, so I just tried to be very specific :)
Sarah @ Making Thyme for Health says
You really did get a cute fix! I love the pants and the necklace. And if a nude bra still doesn’t look right under the navy top, VS has bras with interchangeable clear straps that you can use as well. I’m also a huge strapless hater so I’ll do anything to avoid them.
Auror@Fitness is Sweet says
That chocolate sounds amazing! My favorite this week is a new Costco find-a GIANT bag of sea salt caramel and chocolate clusters…yum!
Courtney says
OMG, for real?! That sounds amaaaaazing. We need a Costco!!
Eryn @ BlondMindedBrunette says
Thank you for showing prices for you Stitch Fix items! It’s nice to know how much each really is. Also your DIY project?! It looks like something from a Better Homes and Gardens magazine, so perfect! Love it!
Courtney says
Aww thanks so much Eryn! We’re definitely thrilled with it :)
Crystal D. says
Those black pants are awesome!! Love them! Where did you get that backpack that says Lucas on it? I need to get my son one and I am just starting to look for one. Thanks!
Courtney says
Thanks, Crystal! I got it from Pottery Barn Kids :)
Summar Abdelnour says
Do you have a link for the bag? I’m obsessed and I’ve seen it everywhere but can’t find a place to purchase it!!! Please help me out :D
Courtney says
Yes! Here it is! :)
http://www.solesociety.com/evan-blush.html – they don’t have it in brown anymore, but there are 3 colors to choose from!
Summar Abdelnour says
Thank you!
