As soon as the weather started getting nicer and warmer this spring, we’ve been attempting to get outside as much as possible. With an active toddler at home, being cooped up indoors is definitely in nobody’s favor!
Most weekdays, if the weather allows it, Lucas and I get home from work/daycare, unpack our bags (much to his dismay), and then we’ll usually play outside until daddy gets home. Lately, this has definitely been throwing off dinner plans and has wound up with us “winging it” more often than usual, but it’s just fine by me. As much as I love having a scheduled dinner plan and time, I love seeing the joy in his eyes and embracing every laughing, smiling moment that we can.
When the warmer days first started creeping up on us, I fell victim to the thought of “it’s almost 4pm, the sun isn’t strong enough to need any sunscreen at this point!” Well for me, that was true…but for my little guy and his sensitive, pale skin, it wasn’t so much. And talk about feeling terrible I realized he’d gotten a little sunburn (it was barely pink, but still…) on my watch.
So ever since, I make sure that we’ve got some sunscreen easily accessible in his backpack AND inside so we can quickly apply and be ready to head outside in the sunshine.
And our sunscreen of choice? Honest Mineral Sunscreen from The Honest Company!
I’m sure you’re not surprised, since I’ve already expressed my love for this company on more than one occasion, but the Honest Mineral Sunscreen has easily made it onto my list of favorite products from Honest. I’m sure most of you are not new to The Honest Company by now, but I’ve always loved their mission to empower people to live a healthy and happy life. Plus, did you guys know that The Honest Company now has 100+ products ranging from baby, personal care, home care, vitamins & supplements, and gear?!
And better yet? It recently got a little facelift, too, with a new design, new packaging, AND a new formulation; this latest innovation is SPF50+ and made up of 19% Non-nano zinc oxide.
Fun fact: Zinc oxide is the only FDA-approved single active ingredient that provides broad spectrum protection against UVA1, UVA2 and UVB rays.
The Honest Mineral Sunscreen is safe and effective, is pediatrically, dermatologically and clinically tested, and is specifically formulated to be gentle for the whole family.
We love the Honest Sunscreen Spray for when we need to apply something quick, but Lucas isn’t always a fan of the spray (he says it’s COLD!) so I’ll interchange that with the Mineral Sunscreen lotion, too.
The Honest Mineral Sunscreen Stick is also great for a quick application on the face, which both Jay and I have been using when we’re outside for longer periods of time on the weekends.
It’s super lightweight, non-greasy, & really easy to apply, too!
So the GOOD NEWS for you guys is that I’ve got an awesome discount:

I have heard awful things about this sunscreen; they’ve even being sued, I think. I would be careful putting it on your children!

Should maybe rethink sunscreen in his book bag that he can access!

I have just been diagnosed with Polymorphic Light Eruption Disorder. Basically I have an extreme sensitivity to certain UV rays. Do you know if this sunscreen is a Broad Spectrum Sunscreen? I am investing a lot in different sunscreens but trying to do research before purchasing because Sunscreen is EXPENSIVE!!
