My Honest Review of The Honest Co.

By Courtney 16 Comments

This post is brought to you by a STSL sponsor.

Shortly after Lucas was born, I started to become much more aware of the products that we used in our house. Then once he became mobile, I felt that it was so extremely important that we reevaluated our cleaning supplies, and the products we used with him, to ensure that he was surrounded by things that were safe.

IMG_7330IMG_7917

And it was probably around that time that I discovered The Honest Co. I remember I first tried out the company by ordering some of their Stain Remover. I was shocked at how well it worked on removing the coffee I spilled in the living room at our old house (whoops), and I loved that I didn’t have to worry about Lucas crawling or rolling around near where it was sprayed.

IMG_1236

After that first order, I was hooked, and I loved it so much that I wound up stocking our cabinets with much more than stain remover. In fact, a couple of my current favorites would include their Glass & Window Cleaner, their Bathroom Cleaner, their Multi Surface Cleaner (which I just recently ran out of but, luckily, have this little trial sized one to last me until I restock!).

IMG_1248

Oh, and I certainly can’t forget their Fruit & Veggie Wash. I always used to just rinse my produce before Lucas was around, but these days, I always have this stuff on hand. I’m pretty sure I’ve ordered this at least 3-4 different times!

IMG_1255

Oh yeah, and actually, I should also mention my love for their Shampoo & Body Wash. We’ve been using it on Lucas for quite some time now, and it’s definitely a tubby time favorite.

IMG_1243

IMG_1242

FYI: It’s worth mentioning again that all of the products listed above were bought with my own money, and I have continued to re-order because I love them that much!

The Honest Co. was created as a solution to find the perfect products for the family and household– which are effective, safe, beautiful, convenient, and affordable– something everyone should have. Plus, the fact that the company founder is Jay’s celebrity crush, Jessica Alba, makes him love their products even more. Men.

The cleaning products are probably my favorite of all. They’re made with advanced plant-based cleaning, they’re ultra versatile, they’re safe for our family and home, and more importantly, they actually WORK.

IMG_1239

And an even greater fun fact? Your purchase helps fund health education and gives products free of harsh chemicals to schools and childcare centers. I’m always game for anything that helps education and children.

IMG_1251

So recently, I had the opportunity to try out some new-to-me products from The Honest Co. in one of their bundles, and I wanted to share my honest thoughts with all of you!

IMG_1259

First, let’s talk bundles. The Honest Co. has a number of different bundles you can subscribe to, as a convenient and worry-free way to make sure that you’re always stocked with your favorite Honest products. You choose the products you need (and want) and decide how often they ship – directly to your doorstep.

bundles

And even better? You get to enjoy a significant discount when you Bundle versus ordering items individually (up to 40%), and you pay only when your Bundle has shipped. You can cancel at any time! Honest’s goal is to provide you with a little relief by delivering the best family essentials to your doorstep– to simplify your life and bring more delight to every day.

Hey, good news for you guys!!  Right now, you can get 25% off your first bundle! Sign up using this link and enter the discount code STSL25OFF at checkout! Don’t miss out though…the offer is only valid until November 30th!

I opted to choose some items from their essentials bundle. Okay, so the fruit + veggie wash wasn’t new to me…buuuut I was sure excited to see another bottle of that because we go through it quickly over here! Just spray on your produce, let sit for a minute or two, them rub gently and rinse.

IMG_1262

The next product I tried out was their Air & Fabric Refresher in lavender vanilla.

the honest co air + fabric freshener

The scent of the freshener didn’t linger too long, and the scent wasn’t too overpowering the way some fresheners can be. I will say that I don’t think the lavender vanilla scent was my favorite (I’m not huge on sweeter, vanilla candles or air fresheners), but I was impressed with the way the product worked and I’d love to try out the freshener in their lemon verbena or orange cypress scents!

A couple more new-to-me products? Their Organic Healing Balm and their Face & Body Lotion.

IMG_1268

Personal care items are something that I’m slowly trying to reevaluate for our family, especially for myself. It’ll take some time, since I use a number of products that likely aren’t deemed “safe,” but any progress is good progress, if you ask me. The Honest Co. personal care items are plant-based, hypoallergenic, gentle, and safe. And it’s so true what they say…what goes ON your body is just as important as what goes IN!

The organic healing balm has been wonderful on my hands, which are already starting to get dry from the cooler weather. I keep it on my nightstand and have been applying every evening before bed. The scent is super calming, with Chamomile and calendula, and the Tamanu oil helps restore and balance skin moisture. Bonus? It can also be used on kids/infants, to help sooth irritations.

The face + body lotion has been wonderful on Lucas’s skin. We slather it on after tubby time, and not only do we love the calming scent, but it really does seem to be helping his dry skin (especially on his legs).

IMG_4306

Finally, the last product I tried was their Wet Mopping Pads.

the honest co wet mopping pads

Since we moved into our new house, we’ve really only swept and vacuumed the hardwood floors because I’d been meaning to look around for good, quality products I could use and trust on them. I researched a little bit on cleaners for our hardwood floors, but I was never able to commit to the purchase because they all seemed to have chemicals/ingredients that I didn’t love. Considering Lucas slides around on our floors day in and day out, I want to make sure they’re being cleaned with something safe.

IMG_1270

Not only are the wet mopping pads made with ingredients I felt okay with, but I was more than pleased to see their results. Our floors were shining again just like they were when we first moved in!

IMG_1272

Granted, it lasted for all of about an hour…if that…but you get my drift. Winking smile

IMG_1275

Overall, I was really impressed with the new-to-me products, and I will continue to be a loyal customer of The Honest Co.!

And don’t forget…you can get 25% off your first bundle! Sign up using this link and enter the discount code STSL25OFF at checkout! Don’t miss out though…the offer is only valid until November 30th!

Interesting! I've obviously heard of The Honest Co. but I haven't tried any of their products yet. Since my little guy is crawling everywhere, it probably makes sense to have some safe cleaning products on hand.

I'm ALL for cleaner, safer products in the house. It's hard to start using safer products on our skin after we've found ones we like so much, that's something I'm working on too. I can't wait to try these out though!

I absolutely love The Honest Co. I get their bundle every month and have been using their products for two years now since we had our little guy. I have only used their diaper cream, healing cream, bubble bath and shampoo/body wash on our son and they have always worked great. I love their laundry detergent and their Oxy Boost pods and use them on all three of our clothes. I tried out the wet mopping pads in my last bundle and loved them as well. By the way the lemon air freshener is great i spray it in my kitchen all the time. I also recommend the dish soap! Oh who am i kidding i recommend it all :)

These products all look really interesting, I've always been curious about trying them, since my nose is really sensitive to certain cleaning products, and it really sounds like these would be safe and easy to use.

The Honest Company is such a great idea, and not only for families with young kids! I always think about pets in the house too, eating food off the floor recently mopped with clorox! Great company, great idea! :)

I always like all-natural cleaning and coincidentally just blogged about a super easy way to clean your microwave (link is below!). I really like Honest's Anti-bacterial hand spray and keep it in my purse for my girls when we're out and about.

I'm glad you did this post. I've heard about the honest company and have been interested, but have never bought anything from them. Your post got me to go a little overboard and buy almost every cleaning item they offer! We are loving the dishwasher detergent packs, and I've already ditched my old dish soap, and hand sanitizer. My bundle with everything else should arrive soon, and I can't wait to start cleaning!

Hey Courtney! You may want to look into a floor steam mop to use on your floors. You literally can just use water, and because it gets so hot it disinfects the floors. It leaves them really shiny! My mom uses one on her nice hardwood floors and they look awesome. You'd still have to sweep/swiffer first, but they work great and you can find them pretty cheap. :)

Hi! Way to fuel another obsession Court! I just ordered my first bundle but I had to call customer service to get it through. So, I hope you get credit for it! Also, their products are awesome so far and the customer service rep was AWESOME!

Haha that's awesome Melissa! I don't get any credits for anything anyone purchased, so no worries on that! I'm just glad you got your bundle ordered! Which one did you go with? :)

I went with the essentials bundle... I got the produce wash, the mopping pads, detergent and room spray. I want to try the diapers but Connor (my son) is now two year's old so we are working on the potty training. I might get a pack from Target but the Pampers seem to be working amazingly. :)

Hahaha, I felt like I could have written that comment myself, word for word! Good luck with the potty training...I'm not quite ready to push it juuuuust yet ;)
