Hey guys! I have (once again) seriously let this week get away from me! We had another kiddo under the weather at the beginning of this week (a phantom fever + super lethargic, but nothing else, thankfully) so that took up some of my time. But on the bright side, today I’m celebrating my birthday! Free birthday Starbucks, for the win.
I’m officially 35 today, and just typing that out sort of makes me cringe. I’ve always said that age is just a number, and I do truly believe that. It’s more about how old you feel! BUT…there’s something about saying you’re halfway to 40 that just seems so crazy. Yikes.
At any rate, there’s nothing I can do about, so I’m gonna just keep aging and celebrating and doing life. Cheers to that!
Since I haven’t been able to check in since last week, I haven’t been able to tell you about all of the fun we had at Jay’s company party last Friday. I finally got the chance to wear that jumpsuit I bought a while back, and I’m so glad I decided to keep it!
The party had a casino theme once again, so we all had some fun gambling with fake money. Ohhh, if only it had been real…
And, of course, since my brother and Jay work together, that also meant we got to spend some extra time with him and his girlfriend, Carissa, too!
My parents took the boys for a sleepover that night, so Jay and I were lucky enough to be able to wake up late on Saturday morning and actually enjoy a leisurely mug of coffee. Ohhh, it was fantastic.
The weekend also included some of Jay’s famous ham, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwiches…
Some exhausting play time out in the snow with these two cuties…
And a half birthday celebration, for this cool guy who officially turned 5-1/2!
I gave him the choice of us buying a little cake or making one together, and he chose the latter, which made my heart happy <3 He also requested blue, green, and purple homemade frosting, which I clearly need to practice mixing, since my purple turned grey.
But he was still thrilled with it, so that’s all that matters.

Thanks Michelle!! Hopefully I’ll be rocking things just like you when I get to your age then!! ;)

Happy Birthday! You look amazing in the jumpsuit.
And really 35 is young! And not half way to 40.
20 is halfway.
Hahaha – I was thinking the entire time about the 30-40 range (hence my thinking 35 was half way) but you are clearly correct. Ay yi yi…thanks for the birthday wishes, Julie!
Happy belated birthday – hope your day was great!
