Birthday Pancakes, Cupcakes, and Ice Cream, Oh My!

By Courtney 5 Comments

Well, I’d say our buddy certainly had a great day kicking off THREE!

Ugh, that smile. He just melts my heart!

His daycare provider offered to let him pick lunch for the day, so kiddo got himself some chocolate chip pancakes.

And then, of course, they were followed up by some mini cupcakes that I sent along for him to share with all of his buddies.

I picked him up quickly after work and he was very excited to tell me all about his special pancakes and cupcakes!

After that, we headed home to wait for Lucas to get home from school (who was a little salty about it not being his birthday, of course…), and then we played outside along with a bunch of the other neighborhood kids as they started to trickle home, too.

A quick dinner of leftover ziti & meatballs from Sunday’s party soon followed, and then we headed out the door for some birthday ice cream at 16 Handles.

My parents and mother-in-law met us there, and thankfully, my dad was thinking ahead and brought a few candles that we could stick in his ice cream while we sung happy birthday. Good work, Papa!

The kids had some fun running around, dancing (as you may have already seen on my IG stories!), and playing in the photo booth.

Both kiddos are definitely still in need of catching up on some lack of sleep from the weekend (I love a predictable and early bedtime routine, but summer is so short that sometimes, we let that slide in favor of some extra fun!), so it was quick tubs/showers and bedtime as soon as we got home.

But overall, I think our buddy had a great day! <3

You can really see the resemblance between Jay, his mom, and Lucas in this picture. Alex looks a lot like your dad and you like your mom. The seating arrangement brings that all out! Lol. Great photo!

Haha, it's funny to hear what others think about who looks like who! We do get a lot of people that say Alex looks like my dad, which I think, too! Jay is actually adopted, haha, but many people do think Lucas looks like him! :)
