Food Porn

By Courtney 41 Comments

I believe this is what is known as food porn…

IMG_6687

Well, at least for me it is anyway. Winking smile

I’ve been highly neglecting the fruits and veggies these past few days, so the thought of a salad filled to the brim with both of ‘em sounded delicious.

IMG_6684

This combo was wild today. Wild.

  • Lettuce
  • Cucumbers
  • Tomatoes (cherry and regular from the garden)
  • Onion
  • Baby Carrots
  • Avocado
  • Strawberries
  • Blueberries
  • Dried Cranberries
  • Grilled Chicken
  • Raspberry Walnut Vinaigrette

IMG_6686

And because I didn’t feel like dirtying another dish, I just decided to toss everything in to my nearly-empty lettuce container and ate it from there. Multipurpose at its finest!

IMG_6689

AND, because our kitchen table is still covered with stuff from the living room, I opted to eat lunch on the living room floor while watching a few minutes of The Chew. It was the perfect way to relax and cool down after completing a nice, brisk 40-minute walk on the treadmill while catching up with the book.

I’ve actually used this little treadmill routine the past few times I’ve walked and read, and it’s been perfect.

walk and read treadmill routine

The inclines keep me from getting bored, and the time intervals are long enough where I don’t have to worry about constantly changing them. It’s great for this non-running gal.

Now, I’m feeling like I need something a bit sweet after lunch…I’m really wishing I had the same amazing, homemade hubby-made dessert that I had on this day last year, but alas, I do not. Unfortunately, he said that I only get cakes for my half birthday when it falls on the weekend. Booooo.

Looks like I may have to go make my own. Winking smile

I love that salad!! Want to make a 2nd one for me? :) I love salads but despise making them. I have thought about doing some treadmill intervals but I am not a fan of constantly changing things because then I cant zone out and forget about the burn. I like this one because it changes only every so often.

I need a half birthday celebration. My birthday is December 29th and it'd be nice if I could break up the celebration a bit and not have it all in one week, Christmas, my birthday and News Years is a lot for one week and then to have to wait a whole year again, No bueno! lol

Happy Half Birthday! Seeing you watch The Chew is making me wonder, do you watch Good Afternoon America? I saw in your first picture on your post from this morning that you were watching Good Morning America so I didn't know if you liked the afternoon edition- I love the show.

I'm not sure if this is what you intended, but when you said, "This combo was wild today. Wild." I immediately thought of the scene from Dirty Dancing where Johnny breaks the window of the car to unlock the door and as they are driving away Baby screams, "You're wild!" Dirty Dancing obsession aside, it looks delicious!
