I’d have to say that, over the past five years or so, grocery shopping and I have had a bit of a love/hate relationship. On the one hand, on the off occasion I go solo, it’s actually nice to be able to have an hour out of the house to get my shopping done in peace. More often than not though, I usually have Lucas with me (while Jay hangs back with Alex), which can either wind up quite fun…or being a total disaster.
On the other hand, grocery shopping has definitely felt like more of a chore since having two kids. I totally take the blame for really tanking on the planning front, and there have been far too many weeks where Jay or I wind up having to make multiple trips during the week for one or two things. Because we’re a hot mess over here.
This year, although I’m not really super big on resolutions, I am making it a goal of mine to get back to regular meal planning and meal prep (remember when I used to have my act together and actually planned out our weekly meals? I need to look back through those for some inspiration!).
I’m also making it a goal to make the grocery shopping experience less of a chore and more of an opportunity for some quality time (and a learning experience!) with Lucas. He actually really enjoys going to the store with me, and in between being friendly and greeting all of the other shoppers we pass, he’s usually excitedly pointing out prices of things, asking how to spell words on the wall, or of course, begging me for item x, y, or z.
So I’m going to look forward to teaching Lucas more about shopping and money, and most importantly…how to save money!
I’m always on the lookout for a good bargain, and although I’m no extreme couponer, I do love clipping coupons for things we actually use and saving a few extra bucks (because it really does add up). And to add to my savings, I’ve also just signed up for My Hannaford Rewards.
I’ve long been a Hannaford shopper, and will frequently stock up on a number of their store-brand items (you can see some of my favorites HERE!).
Now with the My Hannaford Rewards program, Hannaford shoppers can earn 2% on the food they buy most often, including fresh produce, meat, seafood, deli items, and other store-brand items!
If you have a Hannaford near you, I would 110% recommend heading over to their website or grabbing the Hannaford app on your smartphone. I downloaded the app on my phone and within about two minutes, I was easily signed up and ready to start saving.
The app not only allows shoppers to sign up instantly, but you can easily earn and track your rewards, and even redeem personalized coupons and exclusive offers. I’ve got all sorts of coupons clipped on my app currently and have already begun saving!
When it comes to earning and redeeming rewards and offers, all you need to do is scan your phone or enter your phone number at checkout. Easy peasy!
Along with the My Hannaford Rewards program comes very simple and straightforward pricing. There’s no tiered pricing, and all of the regular, low prices from Hannaford are available to everyone; not just those who are enrolled in the My Hannaford Rewards program.
I really am quite excited to be teaming up with Hannaford over the coming months, and look forward to sharing more information with you all about their program and how we’re saving!
