It’s been months in the making, but I finally have my new running sneakers in my possession.
My winning sneaker was the Asics GEL-Nimbus 12, which is actually a little different from my previous pair.
The reason I decided to go with the Nimbus 12 is because of their extreme cushioning. I run entirely on the balls of my feet, never heel-to-toe (hello, dancer for 18 years!) so I wanted something that would provide the extra cushion and comfort. These shoes fit really well, and when I compared them with the other shoe I was contemplating (the Asics GT-2160) these won the battle.
I’m not going to lie…I’m pretty psyched that the color just so happened to be pretty, too (I’ve learned that I can’t be picky about how a running shoe looks…but it’s tough).
And thanks to a couple gift cards and a coupon I spotted online, I was able to get my new kicks AND a new sports bra for only $9.60.
Plus, now I’ve got a $25.00 cash card to use next month. Saweeeeet!

Dinner
Tonight’s dinner was simple, but super delicious. Jay fired up the grill again, and cooked up a couple chicken breasts that I had marinating in one of my favorite dressings ever.
On the side, we had some leftover macaroni salad from my mom in-law,
and some awesome sautéed zucchini and tomatoes. You guys have seriously got to try this out. It was a nice change from my typical roasted zucchini flavors.

- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 1 cup grape tomatoes, halved
- 2 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- fresh ground black pepper, to taste
Directions:
Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add zucchini; cook, stirring often, until slightly browned, about 2 minutes. Add the garlic; cook, stirring, until just fragrant, about 30 seconds. Add the tomatoes; stir until softened, about 1 minute. Stir in the basil, salt and pepper to taste. Finish with a splash of balsamic vinegar and let simmer for 3-5 minutes. ENJOY!

I’m definitely sensing something sweet will be in my future this evening. Now I’ve just got to figure out what…
Ya know? Would it be too much to ask to have my own personal fro-yo machine stashed right in my own home? I’m telling you, if I ever win the lottery…mark my words right now…I will purchase my own fro-yo machine. You can count on that.
Question for the Evening:
If you won the lottery, what would be the first thing you would buy?
