Thanks to Dollar Shave Club for sponsoring this blog post! #ad
Did you guys know that Dollar Shave Club isn’t just for men?? I had no idea, seeing as it’s something I’ve always just known to be for men. But ladies, listen up! Dollar Shave Club, who I’m excited to be teaming up with for today’s post, recently sent me their Ultimate Shave Starter Set to try out, and it’s awesome.
And lucky for you guys, they’re offering STSL readers a great opportunity! Visit DollarShaveClub.com/SweetTooth to get the Ultimate Shave Starter Set for ONLY $5 and round out your grooming routine by adding any of their other high quality products. After that, the restock box ships full-sized products at regular price.
When you get the Ultimate Shave Starter Set, it comes complete with Dollar Shave Club’s Prep Scrub, Shave Butter, Post Shave Dew, Executive Razor Handle, and 2 pack cartridge, and I first got the chance to try it out this past week during my little mid-week bubble bath.
Ahhh, yes. Once upon a time, I used to be able to spend luxurious weekend afternoons or weeknight evenings doing whatever the heck I wanted. And sometimes, that even included lounging in a tub filled with bubbles, music playing, candles burning…
Ah yes. I’m pretty certain I haven’t had a day like that in, oh let’s see…how old is Lucas?
I mean, don’t get me wrong; it’s not like I’m sitting over here pining away at the fact that those days have been basically non-existent, but it certainly was nice.
So I recently decided to start making the most of what time I DO have, and have been coming up with ways to enjoy some extra “mommy,” or “ME” time, which doesn’t involve scrolling through social media or watching junk TV (not that Schitt’s Creek is junk TV, but you get what I’m saying).
Enter, the mid-week, evening bubble bath.
Now, I wouldn’t exactly call said bubble bath luxurious…it takes place in the boys’ bathroom (since it’s the only tub/shower combo we have in the house), which also happens to be right next to Alex’s room, so any music playing must happen with caution. I’ve got foam letters and floating all around me, and I’ve probably sat on at least two or three monster trucks.
So when testing out the new Ultimate Shave Starter Set, I first started out with the Dr. Carver’s Prep Scrub. I’d actually probably say that this was my favorite product from the set, just because of how good it feels! The scrub helps exfoliate dead skin cells, and also helps to release (and prevent) ingrown hairs.
After a little scrub-scrub, I applied the Dr. Carver’s Shave Butter, which helps soften hairs and also fights off razor bumps. Typically, if I’m just shaving my legs quick in the shower, I’m all ‘hurry up and finish.’ And, actually, seeing as it’s winter, I’m lucky if I shave them more than once a week…! I know I can’t be the only one on this one here, right?! But seeing how much smoother and cleaner it made shaving has me rethinking the importance of that added step!
Once I was out of the bath, I finished up with the Dr. Carver’s Post Shave Dew, which helps provide hydration and relieves on contact. It also felt super silky, without being greasy.
Oh! And although it’s not in the initial Starter Set, Dollar Shave Club also sent me their 3oz. Post Shave Cream, which feels suuuuper hydrating, and especially great for these awful (yep, I said it), dry winter months.
Don’t forget to visit DollarShaveClub.com/SweetTooth to get the Ultimate Shave Starter Set for ONLY $5(!), and while you’re on the website, be sure to check out all of the other products they offer. They have you covered for all your grooming needs – shower, oral care, deodorants and most importantly, shaving!
No go do yourself a solid and get a bubble bath planned on the calendar. ; )
