Out ‘til 10:30 on a weeknight with friends? Who am I?
But hey, when you’ve got good friends who are available and want to meet up for food and drinks, you don’t say no!
So last night after putting Lucas to bed, I jumped in my car and headed down to Albany to visit with some of the girls (Andrea, Erica, and Mal – you should know them by now!) at the new(ish?) Druthers. Jay’s actually away for work the next couple of days, but having my parents home allowed me to head out while he slept which was great. See? Another perk of being roommates with the parents.
And just in case you were interested, I actually snapped a pic of yesterday’s work/all day outfit…
- Top: Stitch Fix (just came in a new fix last week – planning on sharing soon!)
- Jeans: Kut from the Kloth Kate Boyfriend Jean via Stitch Fix (from May)
- Belt: Target
- Sandals: Target
So as for last night’s outing? It was a great time, and once again, I’m so thankful to have such awesome, amazing, supportive friends in my life. They totally rock.
Since I knew I was going to be a little late meeting up and wasn’t sure if I’d eat at the restaurant or not, I wound up eating a small dinner with my parents early in the evening just in case.
Corn on the cob, broiled fish, and scalloped potatoes
Once I got to Druthers, I ordered myself a beer and sat down to chat with the ladies.
They had already put their food order in, and I knew I wasn’t really hungry for a full dinner, per se, but I knew I wanted something. And if we’re being honest, there was really one thing I had my mind set on…
Their Beer Cheese Dip with Bavarian pretzels. OMG…do you guys happen to remember when Jay and I got this app when we visited their Saratoga location back in January? They’re SO good (although I will say, these pretzels definitely seemed more “fried” and there was less of the cheese dip which was sort of a bummer). Either way, they were still awesome, and I most definitely packed up my leftovers to go.
And now, it’s back to the grind today once again. Here’s hoping for a quick work day, and hopefully you’re all having a great week so far, too! I’ll catch ya tomorrow. <3

High five for Druthers. They just actually opened ANOTHER location up here in Saratoga (at McGregor Links Golf Club) which I can’t wait to get to and review for my blog!

Oh, no way?! I had no idea!

Good for you girl! I imagine you have to sneak away whenever you can ;) Personally, I’m CRAVING a night of just nothing. no plans, no anything. being home with my family for the past two weeks and having stuff to do ALL the time has been… overwhelming. I miss my little NYC recluse!
Brynn says
Tonight I’m doing the same thing – girls night! Totally worth missing a little sleep to stay out and catch up with the girls!
Courtney says
Have a BLAST, Brynn!!

Sometimes you need a mid week break with friends. Yay for parents who are willing to babysit.

I’m staying with my parents for a bit too and I have to say that it is super convenient to have a live-in babysitter! :)
tiff @ love, sweat, & beers says
Oh my… so jealous. I would dive head-first into those pretzels. Heck, I’d even stay up until 10:30 for them… haha

i was actually just at the Druthers in Saratoga last Saturday for a drink between a wedding ceremony and reception, and my date/friend was telling me how there’s one in Albany now. i’ll have to check it out! not really into beer but they had a vodka cucumber drink that was right up my alley. glad you had a fun girls’ night out — they’re my fave kind of nights.
Heather @ Life In Leggings says
OH MY GOSH those pretzels in beer cheese dip. I need them. So glad to hear you had a great night out with friends. Sometimes you just have to ignore the fact you’ll be getting less sleep and live a little. That’s what I tell myself at least every time my husband drags me out on a weeknight. Also, that Stitch Fix top is super cute and comfy looking!
Sheena @ Paws and Pavement says
Cute top! I love Stitch Fix, they really send some great stuff!
Your food looks so good!

I love Druthers. I didn’t realize they had locations outside of Saratoga! Druthers or Pasta Pane are always among my first stops when I’m in the capitol district.
Niki @ Life With Niki says
Sometimes weeknight dates with girlfriends are definitely needed! Your restaurant meal though, I thought they were potato pops or something :P. That looked like it was really fun to eat… give me something fried and a nice dip and I am so there!
Lauren @ The Bikini Experiment says
Perfect summer outfit! Looks like a fun night. ;-)
