Hello! Happy Tuesday!
I was planning to get this post written up on Sunday night to publish yesterday, but we had some random bedtime shenanigans that tossed that idea right out the window (note to self: do NOT sing “You Are My Sunshine” to Lucas when he asks you to sing him a song for bedtime…the kid broke down in tears and could not pull himself together after that, not wanting me to leave. It was crazy! Then again, maybe it was just my singing…)
So, ya know…here we are today instead!
Sunday was a GREAT day since we had the pleasure of showering Mal & Brian and their baby girl on the way in only FIVE short weeks!!
First things first though…is Mal not freakin’ gorgeous?! FYI: her dress is from Asos, in case anyone is wondering ; )
Our group of friends had been planning the shower for a couple of months now, and we were so excited to have it all come together.
It was a very relaxed and casual brunch (at Carney’s Tavern, for the locals!) and guests were able to eat, chat, and mingle with the parents to be.
Also, how adorable are these cupcakes, right?!
If anyone local is interested in getting contact info for the woman who made them, let me know. She was VERY reasonably priced!
I had such a fun morning being able to celebrate these two with some of my best friends and family (Kanika, we need to photoshop you in!).
And this one is priceless because Brian may or may not have accidentally spilled the name while taking this picture.
It reminds me a lot of this picture from when we spilled the beans about being pregnant with Lucas to friends!
Eeeeek, I am so excited to meet this baby girl SO SOON!
After the shower was over, I headed back home and worked on putting together a little dessert for a get-together we were having with neighbors that evening.
And yes, I absolutely made a couple of mini trifles with the leftover ingredients to have for later (check out this post for details, except I just used crushed Heath bits!). No shame in my game.
We kept our little neighborhood traveling pizza party going and headed on over to our friends’ house after nap time for some pizza and play time.
Our neighborhood is full of little boys and I absolutely LOVE IT. And they’re all within 2-3 years of age, which is so, so great.
As I’m sure you can imagine, our pizza parties/play dates are always hoppin’. ; )
And I had to laugh because at one point in the afternoon, shortly after we arrived, I came across Lucas getting incredibly protective of his little brother. Nobody was doing anything wrong (the other little boy was simply showing him his awesome orange bucket), but Lucas came over and put his arms around Alex saying, “this is MY baby brother!”
It was adorable. <3
And those are some highlights from the weekend! How about you guys? Do anything fun or exciting??
