1. Guys. I have about 4 different posts that I’ve begun drafts for and, well…there are just. not. enough. hours. in. the. day. Can I just tell you how much I really sorta miss those 7-7:30pm kiddo bedtimes?? We’re averaging closer to 8:15-8:30pm these days, and while the extra time with the kids is nice (especially when they’ll actually sit and snuggle with me…!),
it is doing a number on my evening productivity!
2. This past week has been winter recess for schools, so the boys have totally been living their best lives. Jay and I both had Monday off for the holiday, so we brought them to the movies to see Sonic.
FYI: Movie was okayyyy. Boys liked it though, so we called it a win.
3. My MIL was a big help with the boys on Tuesday and Thursday, and they got to go out for lunch, do a little toy shopping at Walmart, and went over for a trip to the NYS Museum, too!
4. I worked from home on Wednesday with Lucas, and we were cooking in the kitchen before my workday even started.
He did an awesome job making a batch of Banana Chocolate Chip Power Muffins, which were made using the Kodiak Cakes Buttermilk Power Cakes mix (our favorite).
I actually need to look more at all of the different recipes they have, because they have a ton that sound SO good!
5. Ever since I had that little bout with the stomach stuff last week, I have seriously been craving diet soda. Specifically, diet ginger ale or diet Sprite. Yeah, yeah, I know diet soda and artificial sweeteners are bad for you…
But man. Sometimes it really just hits the spot, you know?
6. I know I don’t talk about it too often these days (heck, I’m barely blogging these days…!) BUT, I did want to let you guys know about the awesome promo that Beautycounter has going on.

7. OH! I just realized since we haven’t chatted since Valentine’s Day. So that means I need to show you this delicious little gem that I picked up on a whim last Friday…
I had to stop at Shop Rite to pick up some steak for our salads (see below), and as I strategically walked past all of the desserts in the bakery, I came across this little layered cookie creation and immediately grabbed it. Jay and I totally polished it all off that night and it. was. awesome.
8. But hey, we balanced it out with yummy steak salads for dinner, so it basically cancels itself out, right? ; )
All about balance, right?
9. Okay, looking for some advice/recommendations…I want to try and find myself some new gym shoes/sneakers! I don’t want running shoes, but rather, something geared towards lifting/cross training with a lower heel, and also something that won’t cost me a fortune. I had been looking at the Nike Free TR 8 or the Nike Metcon 5, but I’d love to hear if any of you out there have any favorites!
Okay friends, I’m out for today. I’m reeeeeally hoping I can find some time to get on here a bit more next week, but in the meantime, go have yourselves a great weekend, mmmkay? <3 Chat soon!
I have those exact Nike Free TR 8 shoes and absolutely love them! I researched the shoes that were best for ankle stability for training, and that’s what I ended up picking. They’re super cute and hug your feet/ankles SO well. I feel a lot more stable in them than in other shoes!
Oh yes, I can surely relate to what you mentioned about diet soda! My favorite is Diet Cherry 7-Up; it’s pretty much my go-to because of how flavorful it is. The cherry really comes through in it.
I have those Metcons and they are super stiff and heavy. I weigh 115lbs but seriously sound like an elephant walking through my house when I wear them. If you will be doing even short sprints or jogs I would go with something else. The best way to save money on trainers IMO is to try some on at a local store and see what feels good, then go to eBay and purchase last year’s version. In most cases the only difference is color choices. Let us know what you end up getting!
Happy friday!! Long time reader but first time commenter! I have the nike frees and love them. Shameless plug here for a second, have you heard of Color Street Nails? I’ve been using them for a bit and they are a mama’s dream. I’ve noticed you always have nice nails so I wanted to ask! Let me know if you want more info and I’d be happy to share! Have a wonderful weekend :)
Will you please share which shoes you end up with??? I have totally been looking for the same thing!!!
I have the metcons and sooooorta don’t love them. They run small and feel like they don’t flex much when you move, if that makes any sense.
