Fun Facts Friday {3/21}

By Courtney 30 Comments

1. This has been quite a week. I brought Lucas to the doctor on Wednesday and it took all of one listen to his cough for him to be diagnosed with croup. I guess we’ve been lucky that this is the first cold/illness Lucas has had, but a sick baby is just the worst.

Thankfully, even through all of the coughing, drooling, and buckets of snot, we still have our smiley guy. But ohh goodness, I am still a hot mess.

2. iHerb* has temporarily upgraded all current & new iHerb accounts to VIP status! This means that all customers will receive the following extra discounts:
– 5% off any order less than $60
– 10% off any order of $60 or more
– 12% off any order of $80 or more
– 14% off any order of $120 or more

You know what that means…more Justin’s Vanilla Almond Butter, baby! Be sure to use my coupon code SAZ564 for your discount!

3. My friend Kanika sent me this article the other night and it totally brought me to tears. My fellow moms (and dads) out there, I’m sure you’ll appreciate it.

4. March Madness is officially upon us! Typically, I couldn’t really care less about the whole thing, but I actually decided to get in on a bracket with one of the girls I work with. We have Michigan winning the whole shebang…we’ll see how that pans out for us.

5. Well, after months and months of back and forth, I finally decided to sign up for my first Stitch Fix*.

stitchfix

I’m sure most of you are already aware of Stitch Fix by now, but in case you’re not…Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. You tell them your style, size, and budget preferences, and they send you a package of stylish goodies to try on at home. Each Fix is hand-picked just for you, and any items you don’t like, you simply send back.

I cannot WAIT to get my first Stitch Fix, and I’ll be sure to share my goodies with you guys so you can help me pick and choose what to keep!

6. I’m starting to question who deserves the creeper status more over here these days…the original creeper, or Lucas?

IMG_5640

Oh, hey there sick eyes. My poor babe.

7. Well, I feel like I’m starting to finally catch the cold that Lucas has. I’m hoping that the more I don’t think about it, it’ll just magically go away. Because, yeah, that’s how colds work, right?

8. Okay, so this Gone Girl book? Wow. I just reached “Part 2” yesterday and hoooly cow, are things getting interesting!

9. I think I may have discovered a new favorite after-dinner dessert for right now: A plain Greek yogurt mixed with a heaping tbsp of cookie butter + a sprinkle of Heath bits. Ohhh myyyy. Try it.

10. I foresee a whole lot of catching up on sleep this weekend. Well, at least that’s my goal…we’ll see whether or not I can stick to it!

And with that, I’m off. Happy FRIDAY, my friends! Hope you guys have a great day and fabulous weekend!!

My goodness...poor Lucas! Croup is definitely no fun! Hopefully, things will clear-up soon! I have got to get a hold of that cookie butter! I have a feeling I'd be eating it straight out of the jar! ;-)

My little one recently just got over being sick and it is no fun for anyone. We reverted from the crib to the swing for sleep time (the only way he felt better enough to sleep). At least he found some comfort. I hope you get some rest this weekend and that Lucas gets well soon!

Poor baby Lucas! :( I hope this passes quickly for you all. And I really hope you all can get some good sleep this weekend. I think Hunter is getting in his back molars, so sleep has been a little rough over here the last couple nights too. I wonder how I ever did the newborn days! Ha! I'm excited to hear about your experience with StitchFix! I always love seeing posts with everyone's various items of clothing and accessories. I wish I could afford to do something like that, but it really just doesn't fit into our budget. Plus, it's not like I need "work clothes", so I don't have that excuse either! Have fun with it!

Poor guy! Hope he's feeling better soon and that you don't get anything (I'm currently fighting something off before it gets worse!). Yes, Gone Girl is good! Wait 'til the end. Seriously. Your cat is a super creeper! Too funny!

I am so sorry Lucas is sick.... sick babies are sad! We battled bronchitis for a month with Ford in December, it is hard. Also... I have been hearing such great things about Gone Girl! But I am hesitant to read it because I was in the car with my mom and she was like hey can I finish the last few minutes of my book on CD and little did I know, it was Gone Girl. So I heard the ending UGH!

Poor Lucas! I hope he's on the mend. Gone Girl is a crazy book... I loved it. I love March Madness and watching basketball games for days. I don't even follow college bball until now, but it's fun nonetheless.

Gillian Flynn is such a good writer and if you end up liking Gone Girl, I would DEFINITELY recommend her other two books, which I actually liked even more! I hope Lucas gets better quickly!!

I haven't heard of Stitch Fix before, it sounds amazing. Of course, living in the Caribbean makes it hard to take advantage of stuff like that, but I am spending three weeks in DC this summer, so… And thanks for the book recommendation. I just finished the "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" series and am looking for something fun to read before I start my next long series. I hope your little one gets better soon, and have a great weekend! ~Bre

I hope your cold doesn't last long :( Thankfully mine was just a 2-3 day thing and not a few WEEKS like it usually is. Glad Lucas is feeling a bit better. Have an awesome weekend Courtney, and buy some of those BARS! Lol

First off, sorry to hear about Lucas! Hope he feels better soon... I am really obsessed with your dessert idea of greek yogurt, cookie butter + heath. Genius! I obviously have the cookie butter and greek yogurt. Just need to get some heath bits. That shouldn't be a problem :-)

Poor little Lucas. Hope he starts feeling better soon! I can only imagine how tough it is having a sick baby for the first time. :-( Oh, and Greek yogurt + cookie butter + sprinkles? GENIUS. That sounds awesome! And I really need to jump on the bandwagon and read Gone Girl.
