Halloween Fun

By Courtney 16 Comments

Well hello there! Happy November to you! Did you all survive daylight savings time and enjoy your extra hour of sleep? I’d like to say that I did but, alas, sleep over here was a tad interesting this weekend.

First, let’s talk about the fun stuff…Halloween!

IMG_4504

I had so much fun dressing up our little guy in his construction worker outfit this year. It was the easiest thing! I just bundled him up in regular clothes, got him some perfect “work boots” off Zulily, and layered him up in his vest and hat. Easy peasy!

I made the mistake of telling him that morning that we were going to go trick or treating for candy. ALL day long he’d say “Candy! Candy!”…he was just a tad excited.

Since we still don’t have too many houses around us, we ventured over to our friends’ Brook & Andrea’s house to trick or treat with them and their two boys, along with Kanika, Shaheen, and Kaura. Are they not just the sweetest??

Lucas was a little slow going at first…I’m not sure if he was just more distracted from all the other trick or treaters around, or if he was just weird about walking up to strangers’ front doors.

IMG_4502

I thought we were gonna be in for a long evening, but soon enough, Lucas was leading the pack and had no problem going up knocking on those doors.

These two <3 Best buds!

I’d say we probably ventured out to maybe 15-20 houses or so, and then we came back to hang out at the house for a little while. While mommy and daddy sipped on beers in their solo cups, Lucas chugged his milk like a man.

And then, ya know, the moms get to have fun too. Winking smile

Lots of fun handing out candy to the other trick or treaters!

IMG_4503

Since Lucas didn’t nap that day (ahem…) he was getting tired pretty quick, so we came home, put him to bed, and we all crashed hard.

So yeah, as for the rest of this weekend and the whole “sleeping” thing…I’ve run out of time! Gahhh! I’ll try to get the rest of the story up this afternoon…because it’s been interesting, to say the least!

How was your weekend? Everyone have fun on Halloween? Anything exciting??

We also had a sleep "situation" all weekend. So trick or treating capped off at four houses. But it was fun to get Mitch dressed up and we made the best of it. He's only one, so we didn't have high expectations to begin with.

Sleep was elusive in our house this weekend too. Darn DST with a kiddo! ;) What a cute construction worker you had though. Sounds like you had a wonderful time celebrating Halloween with your friends!

Having a baby during daylight savings is horrible. HORRIBLEEEEE! I don't even know if that's what your story is about (but that's what mine is about, and I'm effing exhausted.)

What a cute little construction worker! :) My Halloween was a bit non-traditional for a college student since I was in D.C. at a leadership conference, but I wasn't tooooo bummed to miss the festivities on campus because it's NUTS. An extra 20,000 or so people end up coming to campus every year for the celebrations!

Such cuties! My BFF's little boy is just a few weeks old so his first costume is next year and she's already planning with a firefighter on the list!

Cute kiddos! We stayed home and handed out candy but unfortunately didn't have a ton of kiddos come by so now we have alot of candy leftover. I told my husband to take it to school and get it out of the house. Lol.

Lucas was so cute! What a great costume and a genius way to keep him warm too without having to cover it!

What a cutie!! I spent my Halloween weekend visiting the boyfriend. It was raining so there were only 3 trick or treaters (who came all at once) but it was okay. We ended up spending the weekend watching movies/TV shows, brewing kombucha, bottling beer and sleeping in. It was exactly what we both needed!
