Let’s talk hair!
One of the biggest “issues” I’ve forever had with my hair is lack of volume. While I’d always had very fine hair, I had a lot of it (and would be told so every time I was getting my hair done!). My hair has also always been very smooth, so that lack of texture (while it does have its perks) has always made it difficult for my hair to hold any sort of curl.
Then came pregnancy, and postpartum, and hormones, and all that jazz, which did NOT treat me too well on their hair front. I know I’ve probably mentioned this more than once on the blog, but I wound up experiencing a bunch of hair loss starting at about 4 months portpartum with both Lucas and Alex. And ever since, I feel like my hair was never really the same.
A few months ago, a post in one of the Facebook groups I’m in caught my eye. It was from a friend of mine who was sharing some amazing results she’d recently seen after using a few different Monat products.
Now before I go any farther here, let’s just get this out of the way…
Although it is a direct sales company, I am NOT selling Monat and this is NOT a sponsored post.
So please don’t go clicking that little x up there in the corner, thinking I’m trying to sell you something (unless, of course, you just don’t care about hair products, then feel free to bounce!). I have simply tried out the product from a Market Partner and I’ve been enjoying it so much that I wanted to share more about it with you guys.
I had heard about Monat here and there recently, but never really thought much of it. Some of you may remember I had tried a shampoo/conditioner geared towards hair loss almost a year ago, but after using it for a little while, I just wasn’t really diggin’ it or seeing any differences.
But after seeing my friend’s results and hearing how many of her pain points were the same as mine (thinning at the temples, overall hair loss, lifeless hair), it got me interested enough to at least reach out to the Market Partner she worked with, Morrisa.
Morrisa was awesome. She was so incredibly knowledgeable of the various products, and made sure to ask me a number of specific questions so she could personalize some products to best suit my needs. I would HIGHLY recommend speaking with her, even if you’re just the slightest bit interested in the products (see below on how to reach her!).
The two of us chatted a bit more, and after a couple of conversations, she offered to send me a few samples that she recommended for my hair type and issues, in exchange for an honest review. I was skeptical, considering the lackluster results I’d had with other shampoo/conditioners promising the same things, but I figured it wouldn’t hurt to try.
That was back in January. I didn’t want to share anything until after I’d really had some time to try out the products and see if I would get any results. After about a month and a half of using the products, I was interested enough to keep using it, and now about 3 months later, I’m HOOKED.
(No hairspray or styling, just blown dry with a paddle brush, along with an embarrassingly dirty mirror…)
Not only was I loving the results I was seeing, but I also loved the fact that the products do not contain many of the chemicals/ingredients I’m trying hard to avoid…
I’ve for sure noticed an increase in volume, a very large decrease in hair loss, and a number of new hairs popping up. And while I don’t really have any crazy before/after photos to share, I can tell you with 100% honesty and confidence that I am no longer a skeptic and these products have made (and continued to make) a difference on my hair.

So after falling in love with a few specific products (details below!), I reached back out to Morrisa, told her how in love I was with all of it, and decided to sign up for their VIP program (with my own money…again, not sponsored).
As a very basic breakdown, the VIP route is a one time fee of $19.99, which gets you free shipping on orders $84 (subtotal) and over, and you also get 15% off of all products (so you make your money back the first time you order). All $84 flexship orders also come with a free gift too (valued at $25!). There are more details with the VIP program, and you could either check them out HERE OR get in touch with Morrisa.
Honestly, I never thought I would invest the money in these products continuously. But they WORK, and am now a believer. If you’re curious about what they have, you can check out all of their products HERE!
So what am I using and why am I so hooked?
Here’s a look at all of my favorites…
The Revive Shampoo and Revitalize Conditioner are both great. As someone who used to have to wash her hair every day, believe it or not, I’ve actually been able to go FIVE DAYS at times without washing in between. That would have been unheard of before. Seriously.
I’m also completely hooked on their Blow Out Cream, and can 110% see a difference in my hair when I use it vs. when I don’t (which is now very rare!). It gives my (very fine) hair a type of texture and volume that I’ve never found and it’s. just. my. favorite.
Morrisa’s recommendations really were spot on, and I will say that it is SO super important to talk with a Market Partner so they can get an idea of your needs/wants and get your hands (and hair!) on the right products.
Also worth mentioning, there are a few other products that I have and really do enjoy, including the hairspray and The Champ Conditioning Dry Shampoo (hello, no washing for 5 days!).
And of course, since we’re talking about hair and all, I do still have a couple of products that are not Monat, and still rank the highest on my list of daily/hair wash day products:
Other products I use:
- Conair Quick Blow Dry Pro Vent Brush
- Herstyler Hair Straightener (mostly used for waves, using the method from this old tutorial I created!)
- 1-1/2 inch Conair Curling Iron
Sooo, there’s a breakdown of what I’m using (and LOVING!) for my hair these days!
If you’re interested in learning more about Monat, definitely reach out to Morrisa and tell her I sent you – she is a doll! You can reach her via…
